In this role, you will act as a key enabler between business and technology, providing operational product management for systems such as in‑house solutions (FIS), SAP, and other core applications. Your focus will be on aligning product functionality with operational needs, ensuring that our tools effectively support regional and global business processes. From ideation to implementation, you will help shape the product roadmap, together with the respective product owner, drive continuous improvement, and support scalable, value‑driven solutions. As part of Hapag‑Lloyd’s digital transformation journey, you will also play a critical role in ensuring the successful adoption and integration of new tools and technologies within [Region].
Responsibilities
- Support the full product lifecycle for the regional product roadmap, from requirement definition through testing, coordination of UAT, development phase, rollout and hypercare, and post‑implementation improvements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business needs.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear product concepts, features, and actionable tasks in line with the respective product vision.
- Collect, document, and evaluate innovation ideas from areas/regions, ensuring business benefits are clearly defined and aligned with Product Owners.
- Act as the primary interface between business and IT Product Owner, driving cross‑functional collaboration and alignment.
- Assist in preparing status reviews and communicating progress to stakeholders and senior management when required.
- Support the preparation and execution of product rollouts (e.g., S/4HANA) and other innovative initiatives, coordinating with training, and regional teams.
- Coordinate change request management and ensure smooth integration of updates into existing processes.
- Provide product‑specific guidance for development, ideation, and support the evaluation of automation ideas.
- Provide operational support for local systems (e.g., payment solutions).
- Strengthen the SuperUser Community by coordinating onboarding, facilitating knowledge flow, and organizing exchange forums.
- Identify, plan, and deliver training needs and materials related to IT products in alignment with regional training management and business stakeholders, ensuring continuous upskilling of users and effective onboarding of SuperUsers during new product rollouts.
- Maintain and oversee regional steering tools and tables such as SAP + FIS steering tables, FIS profiles, FIS translation tables, and ODM rules.
- Provide guidance on steering parameters to Area/QSC/Regional teams to ensure correct system usage and alignment with business objectives.
- Administer secure role management requests (e.g., High Secure Role requests) in compliance with IT and security policies (e.g., SAP Security concept).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Mandatory experience working within SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments with deep functional understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) processes.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate finance processes with other modules such as MM and CO.
- Experience with HL system and knowledge of the maritime industry, shipping, or terminal operations is a plus.
- Several years of relevant experience in product management, project management, or process optimization.
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, especially in global or complex organizational structures.
- Solid understanding of technical concepts (e.g., Agile developments, automation, data flows) to effectively collaborate with development teams.
- Proven ability to act as a bridge between business and IT, ensuring solutions are both user‑centric and technically feasible; hands‑on experience in cross‑functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage at all levels.
- Proficiency in tools like MS Office, JIRA/Confluence, and common collaboration platforms.
- Strong communication skills with ability to synthesize information and create clear storylines with experience presenting to (senior) management.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Teams, PowerPoint and Excel as well as analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
