Job summary

Phenom People in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a Backend Engineer (PDE III) to design, build, and scale microservices-based backend services using Java and Spring. You will contribute to high-performance, low-latency systems powering enterprise applications.

You will mentor juniors, own end-to-end delivery, and collaborate with product, data, and platform teams. Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is highly valued; prior SaaS/multi-tenant experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java and Java 11+.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Proficient in REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of DSA, system design, and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and memory management.
• Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Experience with databases PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud exposure to AWS/GCP/Azure; hands-on with AI-infused development tools is a plus.
