Job summary

WorkIndia is hiring a Product Designer to shape simple, intuitive experiences for millions of candidates and employers on WorkIndia.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and business teams to understand problems, define the right experience, explore solutions, and drive execution to iterate. The role requires strong product judgment, user empathy, and craft to solve the right problem rather than just the solution.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Product/UX Design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Strong interaction design fundamentals and high visual design craft.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems and create simple, intuitive experiences.
• Strong understanding of user research, usability testing and product analytics.
• Experience working with design systems and creating reusable patterns.
• Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, technical constraints and speed.
• Strong communication and collaboration with Product and Engineering.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

• Partner closely with PMs and Engineering throughout design and implementation.
• Communicate design rationale, trade-offs, risks and blockers proactively.
• Ensure design intent is maintained through development and QA.
• Proactively identify UX/UI improvements beyond assigned scope.

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Designer to help shape simple, intuitive and effective experiences for millions of candidates and employers on WorkIndia.

You’ll work on complex product problems where the right experience can directly influence whether a candidate finds a relevant job or an employer successfully hires.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Consumer Insights and business teams to understand user problems, define the right experience, explore solutions, and take them through execution and iteration.

This role requires strong product judgment, deep user empathy and excellent design craft — but most importantly, the ability to solve the right problem rather than simply design the solution you're given.

What You'll Do

Product & User Thinking

• Understand user and business problems deeply before jumping into solutions
• Challenge briefs and help identify the highest-impact problems to solve
• Leverage user research and product data to form and validate design hypotheses
• Collaborate with PMs to define measurable success criteria

Experience Design

• Design end-to-end experiences across mobile and web, from concepts to production-ready UI
• Translate problems and requirements into flows, wireframes and prototypes
• Simplify complex workflows while thinking through edge cases and real-world scenarios
• Maintain a high bar for interaction and visual design quality

Systems & Scalability

• Build and evolve reusable patterns aligned with WorkIndia's design system
• Identify recurring experience problems and solve them systematically
• Design experiences that can scale across users, categories, geographies and use cases

Validation & Iteration

• Conduct usability testing and integrate findings into design decisions
• Use user feedback and funnel data to identify and solve usability issues
• Iterate quickly based on evidence and track whether shipped experiences improve outcomes
• Partner closely with PMs and Engineering throughout design and implementation
• Communicate design rationale, trade-offs, risks and blockers proactively
• Ensure design intent is maintained through development and QA
• Make pragmatic trade-offs without compromising core user value
• Proactively identify UX/UI improvements beyond assigned scope

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of Product / UX Design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership
• Strong interaction design fundamentals and high visual design craft
• Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems and create simple, intuitive experiences
• Strong understanding of user research, usability testing and product analytics
• Experience working with design systems and creating reusable patterns
• Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, technical constraints and speed
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly with Product and Engineering
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
• Marketplace, consumer internet or two-sided product experience is a strong plus
