AGCO in Pune, India seeks a seasoned Product Cost Engineer to model should-cost, map manufacturing processes, and identify design changes for cost reduction.

You will work with hydraulics, electronics, sheet metal, machining, painting and wire harness cost drivers, collaborating with engineering to influence component and assembly decisions.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 6+ years in Automotive/Off-Highway sectors, with hands-on experience in aPriori, Creo and Windchill.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 6+ years in Automotive/Off-Highway/Construction/Agriculture or supplier to these industries.
• 4+ years using aPriori, Creo and Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Perform should-cost modelling to estimate product costs and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop should-costing models and process maps for Hydraulics & Electronics, Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting and wire harness.
• Demonstrate link between manufacturing processes, geometric features, cycle time and cost impact.
• Collaborate with engineering to apply cost insights from component to full assembly.
• Monitor market rates for materials, processes and equipment.

AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Product Cost Engineer

Your Impact

Perform should-cost modelling to estimate product costs and identify potential design modifications for cost reduction.

Develop should-costing models and manufacturing process maps for key commodities including Hydraulics & Electronics, Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting and wire harness.

Demonstrate strong understanding of the relationship between manufacturing processes/operations, geometric features, cycle time, and cost impact.

Collaborate closely with engineering team sharing key takeaways from cost modelling and analysis work to inform design decisions from component level through full assembly techniques.

Maintain good awareness of current market rates for materials and manufacturing processes & equipment/machines.

Your Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• 6+years of work experience in Automotive/ Off-Highway/ Construction/ Agriculture industry or with a Supplier providing commodities to these industries (Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting and wire harness)
• 4+ years of experience in aPriori, Creo and windchill tools.
• Should costing and process mapping expertise in commodities Sheet metal, Metal Fabrication, Machining, Painting, Wire harness etc
