Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru seeks an experienced professional to drive procurement for indirect and direct operations, including sourcing, supplier selection, and contract administration. You will implement Lean practices, manage shifts, and enforce safety while guiding trainees and maintaining production metrics.

The role requires 5+ years in relevant fields with BE qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical) or Diploma/Engineering credentials, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in indirect and direct procurement activities.
• Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma in manufacturing.
• Ability to plan, schedule and manage shift operations safely.

• Execute and maintain Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Plan work schedules and manage the shift to achieve output targets.
• Assign duties to trainees and supervise progress.

The Opportunity

Accountable for obtaining goods/services required by the organization including: Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.). Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.) Procurement processes include: Product/Service Sourcing. Supplier Selection. Pricing/Terms Negotiation. Order Processing. Contract Administration. Supplier Performance Management. May include Strategic Sourcing An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

How you’ll make an impact

• Executing & maintaining Lean Manufacturing.
• Knowledge on Six Sigma, 5S, DMAIC etc.
• Experience in Planning the work schedule & Managing the Shift & getting desired output by the team.
• Assign duties to Employees, Trainees and oversee their progress.
• Ensure that daily production goals are met.
• Creating production process reports.
• Identify issues & efficiency and suggest improvements
• Train and integrate new workers.
• Full understanding of industry safety standards
• Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards

Your background

• Candidate should have B.E – Electrical / Mechanical with 5+ years of Experience in relevant field
• Technical Qualification – Diploma / Engineering
• Handling the Trainees & getting work done
• Understanding of industry safety standards
• Gemba board & chart; shift wise production data; safety incident reports in intelex
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
