Job summary

Search Advisers Services Guj is seeking a quality engineering professional in Kolkata to develop and audit PFMEA and control plans, drive FPY/RFT/RTY, and own quality across assembly, inspection, and testing. The role requires knowledge of IEC 62271 and related standards, with experience in metrology, ECN/ECO, and LOTO practices.

ISO 14001/45001 exposure is a plus. The ideal candidate will lead problem-solving using 8D/A3/DMAIC, oversee testing of MV switchgear components, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of IEC 62271 / IEC 62271-100.
• Experience with Type and Routine Tests.
• Knowledge of metrology and calibration systems.
• Experience with ECN/ECO, DFM/A, and change management.
• LPA and customer audit experience.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and LOTO practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, maintain, and audit PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Ensure identified risks and special characteristics are effectively controlled.
• Own quality performance across assembly, in-process inspection, and final testing.
• Drive FPY, Right-First-Time (RFT), RTY, and reduction of internal defects.
• Monitor CTQ parameters and ensure effective processes.
• Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, A3, DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and other quality methodologies.
• Ensure quality of MV circuit breakers, vacuum interrupters, and associated switchgear modules.
• Oversee relevant electrical and mechanical testing, including Dielectric/Hi-pot, Primary injection, Contact resistance/micro-ohm testing, Mechanical checks and torque verification, Contact timing and functional testing.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards, including IEC 62271 series requirements.
• Exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 will be an advantage.
