Job summary

Live Connections is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer / Senior Engineer to safeguard component and product quality across production operations. You will lead quality improvement efforts and apply statistical methods to drive zero-defect performance.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering background (or diploma with relevant experience) and are familiar with TPM, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and IATF 16949 standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering graduate with 5+ years in Automotive Manufacturing.
• Diploma with 8 years in relevant field acceptable.
• Knowledge of TPM, Quality Circle, Advanced Quality Planning, Inspection Equipment/Techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area as part of the manufacturing team.
• Drives and champions quality improvement efforts.
• Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of problem-solving tools and statistical analysis.
• Supports external customers in New Product Introduction, Localization and Continuous Improvement activities via APQP.
• Ensures internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner.
• Measurable results include improvements to Customer Satisfaction and Internal Scrap rate.
• Optimizes Process Capability using statistical analysis and training on problem-solving.
• Responsible for Product & Process audits, internal and customer complaint closures with counter measures.
• Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment for timely data aiding decision-making.
• Performs root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions.
• Familiar with ISO 50001 energy management requirements and continual energy performance improvement.
• Responsible for Change Management and Calibration processes.

Job purpose

The Quality Assurance Engineer / Senior Engineer shall provide quality support to assigned production operations to ensure the integrity of components and products produced by those operations. The individual will aggressively drive quality improvement efforts in assigned area with goal of achieving zero defect performance and support process improvement and problem-solving efforts with focus on protecting and improving product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area through participation as integral part of manufacturing team.
• Drives and champions quality improvement efforts.
• Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis.
• Through the application of APQP, supports the external customers in New Product Introduction,Localization and Continuous Improvement activities .
• Insures that internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner.
• Results for this position will be measured by improvements to Customer Satisfaction and Internal Scrap rate.
• Optimizes Process Capability on significant characteristics through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and training of shop floor people in Problem-Solving.
• Responsible for Product&Process audits,Internal and Customer complaints closures and monitoring with effective counter measure implementation.
• Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making.
• Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action.
• Should be competent in ISO 50001:2011 requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system and follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption
• Responsible for Change Management process, Calibration process.

What we’re looking for

• Mechanical Engineering graduate with more than 5 years of experience from an Automotive Manufacturing background. Diploma with 8 years of experience in relevant field is acceptable.
• Must have knowledge on TPM methodology, Quality Circle, Advanced Quality Planning, Inspection Equipment / Techniques
• Must have hands‑on exposure in Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis – Using Minitab software, Capability studies, statistical analysis using various QC Tools, Metal forming, assembly processes, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Must have knowledge on Heat Treatment furnaces and related quality processes , APQP, PPAP,Calibration MSA, Customer Compliant Handling, Warranty Analysis, Burden Ratio Analysis.s
• Must have handled Change management process.
• IATF 16949 certification for internal auditor.
• Must have system knowledge on TS IATF 16949, ISO14001 and Customer specific standards.
• Should be able collaborate and work with Cross Functional team.
• Should have good communication skills.
• Should have flair for employee relations - should be able to work closely with his team, leading, motivating and challenging them to achieve higher targets.
