Job summary

Chandigarh News is seeking a skilled process engineer to support FEED and detailed engineering for commercial equipment, including modular skids and operability assurance. The role covers process, civil/structural, electrical, mechanical and piping design, instrumentation and control, packaging, HVAC, fire protection and balance-of-systems, with emphasis on optimization and safety compliance.

You will review technical documentation, participate in literature reviews, and contribute to QA/QC

Responsibilities

• Support FEED and detailed engineering for commercial equipment, integrate modular skids, and ensure operability.
• Process design and engineering across process, civil/structural/architecture, electrical, mechanical and piping, instrumentation and control, packaging, HVAC, fire protection and balance-of-systems.
• Support procurement, vendor engagement, technical bid analysis and negotiation for fabrication of custom-built engineering equipment and preparation of execution-phase contracts.
• Support plant erection, commissioning, design and analysis of experiments, activity scheduling, resource allocation, plant troubleshooting and optimization.
• Conduct process modeling and simulation; prior experience modeling high-temperature reactors and fractionation columns preferred.
• Perform literature reviews, present findings concisely, and author original scientific and technical documents.
• Review and improve documented protocols such as HAZOP, Cause & Effect Diagrams, QA/QC, SOPs and MSDS.
• Apply knowledge of industrial instrumentation (DCS, PLC, Statistical Process Control).

Key Responsibilities

• Support FEED and detailed engineering for commercial equipment, integrate modular skids, and ensure operability.
• Process design and engineering: ideation, planning, preparation, review and finalization of basic and detailed engineering across process, civil/structural/architecture, electrical, mechanical and piping, instrumentation and control, packaging, HVAC, fire protection and balance-of-systems.
• Support procurement, vendor engagement, technical bid analysis and negotiation for fabrication of custom-built engineering equipment (furnaces, heat exchangers, pumps, reactors, packed beds, physical separation processes) and preparation of execution-phase contracts.
• Support plant erection, commissioning, design and analysis of experiments, activity scheduling, resource allocation, plant troubleshooting and optimization.
• Conduct process modeling and simulation; prior experience modeling high-temperature reactors and fractionation columns preferred (MATLAB, Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, etc.).
• Perform thorough literature reviews, present findings concisely, and author original scientific and technical documents.
• Review and improve documented protocols such as HAZOP, Cause & Effect Diagrams, QA/QC, SOPs and MSDS.
• Apply knowledge of industrial instrumentation (DCS, PLC, Statistical Process Control).
