Carrier Airconditioning & Refrigeration Ltd seeks an experienced Process Engineer to lead the process engineering function for HVAC product assembly lines. You will ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing processes with a focus on continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with R&D, design and production teams to support NPIs, implement lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and drive cycle time reduction and energy efficiency while mentoring a team of engineers and technicians.

Formación

• 8–15 years in process/manufacturing engineering, preferably HVAC.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC product manufacturing processes.
• Experience with PFMEA, time-motion study and line balancing.

About the role

To lead the process engineering function, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing processes for air conditioning products.

Responsible for continuous improvement, new product integration into production, and supporting cross-functional teams in achieving production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for HVAC product assembly lines.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flows.
• Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams for smooth NPI.
• Support pilot runs and validates new process capabilities for new models or variants.
• Identify and evaluate manufacturing equipment needs, process automation, and tooling.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Ensure processes comply with quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for process-related issues and drive corrective actions.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance for process audits and CAPA.
• Lead initiatives for cycle time reduction, labor productivity, and energy efficiency.
• Analyze and control manufacturing cost drivers.
• Lead and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians.
• Provide training on process control, safety, and lean tools.

Qualification & Skill

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience: 8-15 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering, preferably in HVAC or other consumer durables/electro-mechanical industries.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC product manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with assembly line balancing, PFMEA, time-motion study.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other design tools.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Good communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
• Lean Manufacturing Certification
• TPM, Kaizen, or TQM knowledge
