Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking a valuation professional to perform and report valuations on illiquid investments across geographies using established valuation methodologies. You will contribute to model design and client relationship management.

Ideal candidates have accounting or CFA progress, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with DCF, comps, and related financial models. This role emphasizes client engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

About the Role:

Our valuation professionals are experts in private market pricing valuation services. The team assists clients with post-trade valuation of alternative investments, focusing on debt and equity positions where no active market quotations are available. We value collaboration, innovation, and delivering high-quality insights to our clients.

Responsibilities and Impact:

Perform valuations on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies using S&P's valuation methodologies.

Report valuation results to clients and handle client queries.

Contribute to the design and enhancement of the financial models used to perform valuations.

Work with management to maintain client relationships.

Attend relevant industry events to broaden knowledge and experience within the alternative asset industry.

Support the team in responding to client price challenges and maintaining strong client relationships.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant or CFA candidate currently working to obtain qualification.
• Experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models (e.g., DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts/forecasts, intangible asset models).
• Knowledge of software packages including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Commercial awareness and experience responding to client price challenges.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience maintaining and prioritizing client relationships.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams across a variety of functions.
