Job summary

Vodafone is looking for a Privacy Specialist to join their Privacy Responsible AI & Data Regulations team in Pune, India. This role supports the global privacy programme and focuses on protecting personal data for millions of customers. You will manage privacy impact assessments, ensure compliance, and assist with incident management responsibilities.

About this Role

We are seeking a Privacy Specialist to join Vodafone Group’s Privacy Responsible AI & Data Regulations team, supporting the protection of personal data for hundreds of millions of customers and employees. This role contributes to the global privacy programme by supporting privacy-by-design practices, regulatory compliance, and operational processes, including privacy impact assessments, incident management, and supplier compliance. The position is well suited to an individual with early experience in data privacy operations, strong organisational capability, and an interest in evolving global privacy and AI regulations.

What you’ll do
  • Support Privacy and Responsible AI by Design and Assurance activities across global data processing initiatives
  • Manage privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and AI risk assessments, including maintaining workflows within OneTrust
  • Handle privacy demand management, including triage, categorisation, and timely resolution of requests
  • Respond to Subject Access Requests (SARs) and similar data‑related requests in accordance with policy and timelines
  • Assist with incident management, including initial investigation of privacy incidents
  • Support supplier compliance processes related to data privacy
  • Conduct reassessments of high and medium‑risk personal data processing activities
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality assurance activities
  • Assist in policy compliance reviews and audits
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of privacy notices, templates, and guidance
  • Support the wider team with additional privacy‑related activities as required
Who you are
  • Understanding of the global privacy landscape within technology and digital businesses
  • Knowledge of GDPR, EU AI Act, and associated data protection regulations
  • Familiarity with compliance management standards, tools, and best practices
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Experience with OneTrust and Jira is advantageous
  • 1–2+ years of experience in operational data privacy roles
  • CIPP/E certification or similar qualification
