The role requires 15–20 years in IT with hands-on experience in AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling. Strong leadership and vision for AI-enabled automation are highly valued.

Job Overview And Responsibilities

The Principal Enterprise Architect for DevOps is a high-impact leadership and "evangelist" role within the IT Application Development function. This individual is responsible for architecting the enterprise-wide software delivery ecosystem, ensuring that application development teams can deploy code with maximum speed, security, and reliability. You will serve as a technical visionary, driving the adoption of modern DevOps practices and tools across the organization's application portfolio.

• Architectural Strategy & Vision: Define the long-term architectural roadmap for DevOps within IT Application Development, ensuring alignment between software engineering goals and infrastructure capabilities.
• DevOps Evangelism: Act as a primary advocate and subject matter expert for DevOps culture, mentoring engineering teams on modern delivery patterns and operational excellence.
• Platform Standardization: Design and govern a centralized framework for CI/CD pipelines, SCM structures, and infrastructure templates to ensure consistency and compliance across various application development projects.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, automated infrastructure using Terraform and AWS to support high-performance application environments.
• Containerization Strategy: Architect and oversee the deployment of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, optimizing for performance, resource availability, and resilience.
• Tooling Excellence: Evaluate and manage the enterprise tech stack, with a focus on Harness or Jenkins, ensuring the integration of best-in-class performance monitoring and security tools.
• Performance & Security Governance: Architect automated guardrails for infrastructure security and availability, ensuring that application delivery pipelines meet rigorous enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Seniority: Minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience in the IT industry, with a proven track record in high-level architectural roles.
• Architectural Expertise: Extensive experience serving as an Architect or Technical Evangelist, with the ability to influence leadership and drive organizational change.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep technical proficiency in AWS and Terraform for large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud environments.
• DevOps Mastery: Expert knowledge of CI/CD orchestration platforms (specifically Harness or Jenkins) and Source Code Management (SCM) using Git.
• Containerization: Advanced hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration in a production environment.
• Observability & Security: Proficiency with enterprise-grade tools for infrastructure performance monitoring, high availability, and security.
• Leadership Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution.
• AI Vision: Experience in leveraging artificial intelligence for automating tasks, knowledge on Prompt engineering and Agentic AI. Expertise or hands-on in AI/ML is an added advantage.
