Job summary

Egis Group in Bengaluru, India is seeking a detail-oriented Principal Technician- Roads to lead on-site road construction, maintenance and rehabilitation projects. You will oversee QA/QC, coordinate with engineers, contractors and operators, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of hands-on road experience, proficiency with surveying equipment and CAD, and a proven ability to manage on-site teams and documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in road construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation projects.
• Proven supervisory or lead technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of road construction materials, specifications, and quality standards.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment, testing instruments, and CAD software.
• Experience with project management tools and documentation systems.
• Safety certifications (such as OSHA or equivalent) required.
• Quality management certifications (ISO 9001 or similar) preferred.
• Familiarity with Bengaluru infrastructure standards and regulations preferred.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Principal Technician- Roads to join our infrastructure team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will oversee the technical aspects of road construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects. You will be responsible for ensuring quality standards, managing on-site operations, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical expertise in road infrastructure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

• Oversee daily road construction and maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines
• Conduct quality control inspections and testing of road materials, including asphalt, concrete, and aggregates, using appropriate testing equipment
• Analyze site conditions, survey data, and project requirements to develop technical solutions and recommendations
• Manage and coordinate with equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution
• Monitor compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and local traffic management requirements
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including progress reports, material test results, and site inspection records
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues on-site and implement corrective actions promptly
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to optimize resource allocation and project scheduling
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of surveying and testing equipment
• Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety procedures, and technical standards
