Qualifications

• Metro and Mainline project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and trace Overall System Requirements across the project life cycle (Design and Testing).
• Identify and manage interfaces among subsystems and external interfaces per project scope.
• Deliver System Architecture and Signalling functionalities and ensure integration.
• Plan and execute factory and site tests to verify architecture, functions, interfaces, and scenarios.
• Oversee verification activities of system integration documents per the V&V plan.
• Apply standardized, optimized solutions across turnkey projects to meet contract requirements.
• Update design standards for System Integration with technology and process improvements.
• Share lessons learned across projects in System Integration and core subsystems.
• Support implementation of technical solutions including customer interfaces.
• Ensure system integration tests are performed across projects with optimized methodologies.

Job Description

HITACHI RAIL STS is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Principal System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Bangalore, India.

About the Position

Overall System understanding in and across multiple turnkey projects, Microlok interlocking, working of Interlocking VDU, Automation Tools etc in order to meet the requirements imposed by the contracts either for the Tender and Backlog Projects. He should be having experience of Metro as well as Mainline Projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the management (i.e. identification, allocation, traceability) and the fulfilment of Overall System Requirements for the entire life cycle of the project (Design and Testing)
• Guarantee the identification and the management of the project interfaces among the subsystems and of external interfaces according to the project scope of work
• Guarantee the proper and effective delivery of System Architecture, Functionalities of Signalling systems and Integration
• Guarantee an effective and efficient preparation and execution of factory and Site Tests to verify and validate System Architecture, main System Functions and Integration, Interfaces and Operating Scenarios
• Ensure the Verification activities of System integration documents, according to the V&V Plan
• Ensure the application across assigned turnkey projects of standardized and optimized solutions to increase project efficiency and fulfil contract requirements
• Ensure the continuous updating of the design standards about System Integration in accordance to the technology and process improvements
• Ensure the sharing of the technological lesson learnt across projects in System Integration and in the core Subsystems analysis
• Support the implementation of the adequate and effective technical solution (e.g. interfaces with customer)
• Ensure that System Integration tests are performed across projects optimizing methodologies and sharing results.

Key Experiences Preferred

• Achievement of the assigned yearly budget KPIs homogeneous trends across the projects about Design, Commissioning (related to System Integration activities), Requirements Management & Development, Interface Management.
