Job summary

Konecranes is seeking a Principal Specialist – Offer Support in India to lead customer-focused technical solutions and accurate offer data within a fast-paced Demag distribution context. You will coordinate with engineering, sales and service teams to ensure profitable, compliant bids and timely responses.

The role requires BE Electrical/Mechanical with 7–10 years of experience, and hybrid work from Pune. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of EOT and industrial crane applications.
• Experience with crane standards such as IS 3177, IS 4137, CMAA and FEM.
• Experience in handling customized and non-standard crane requirements.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical component selection and sizing.
• Understanding crane duty classification and application requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements, applications and objectives to propose feasible solutions.

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Specialist – Offer Support

Employment type: KC Role, Demag Distribution India.

Role and Responsibility:

Customer Requirement & Technical Solution

• Understand the customer’s requirements, application and ultimate objective.
• Recommend the most appropriate, feasible, simple and economical solution.
• Provide alternative solutions wherever required.
• Ensure the proposed solution complies with applicable technical standards and organizational capabilities.
• Prepare detailed technical solutions covering the complete scope of supply.
• Support branches/distributors by providing checklists and identifying the required technical inputs.

Offer Engineering & Commercial Support

• Prepare and release accurate offer data within the agreed timeline.
• Provide technical and commercial inputs for supply, transportation and service.
• Support commercial optimization to improve project profitability and competitiveness.
• Coordinate with the second-level Offer Support team for non-standard and complex enquiries.
• Ensure timely submission of offers to the Demag Sales Front Line.
• Handle spare-parts offering activities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering for high-value and customized solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
• Accompany Sales/branches during customer interactions whenever technical support is required.

SAP, BOM & Order Support

• Create and update Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP for non-standard projects.
• Ensure BOM data is accurate and released within the required timeframe.
• Review customer POs for technical and commercial requirements.
• Participate in Project Kick-Off Meetings (KOMs).
• Support order execution and resolve technical/offer-related issues during project execution.

Process & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and ensure adherence to defined SOPs and offering processes.
• Identify gaps in the offer process and implement improvement actions.
• Develop improvement plans to increase offer accuracy, efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain relevant offer data and support data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to standardization of technical solutions, checklists and offering practices.

Training & Knowledge Development

• Conduct product and application training for Demag Sales Front-Line teams.
• Conduct product training for Distributor Front-Line teams.
• Share technical knowledge, product updates and application learnings with internal stakeholders.
• Support development of technical documentation, guidelines and training material.
