Pratt & Whitney in Bengaluru is hiring a senior data engineer to design and maintain data pipelines, implement ELT processes, and apply governance across projects. You will collaborate across global teams to ensure data quality and scalability, while leveraging SQL, NoSQL databases, and ETL tools.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in data engineering, strong SQL/NoSQL knowledge, and hands-on experience with data warehousing and GitHub, operating in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• BE in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 7+ years relevant experience or Masters with 5+ years.
• 5+ years experience with data warehousing technologies and ETL tools (SSIS, SQL, SSRS).
• Strong understanding of GitHub and Agile methodologies.
• Strong database knowledge with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience creating database objects like stored procedures.

What You Will Do *

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes to ensure efficient data extraction and loading.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.
• Develop ETL pipelines for general business consumption, establishing patterns for repeatable, scalable ETL work that others can leverage in their work.
• Implement data governance and master data management principles across specific project execution.
• Collaborate with global business teams to understand the problems and design scalable solutions.
• Identify and understand the necessary data sources for projects and efficient ways to clean and transform it.
• Work with Global Technology to ensure that solutions are up to current standards and best practices.

What You Will Learn

Qualifications You Must Have *

• B.E in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 7+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Masters/ advanced Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with and 5+ years prior relevant engineering experience.
• 5+ years of Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies and ETL tools (SSIS, SQL,SSRS).
• Strong understanding on GitHub
• Strong understanding of Agile methodology
• Strong database knowledge, along with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Hands on experience in creating database objects like Stored procedures, function etc.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration and driving alignment across various teams.
• Self-starter with high level of intellectual curiosity.
• Strong analytical and hardworking problem-solving mindset

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience in Aerospace & Defense Processes from Design to Manufacturing to After Sales & Support
• Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.
• Knowledge and experience in Data Governance, Architecture and Platforms
• Strong learner who is comfortable learning new libraries and frameworks
