Schneider Electric in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Software & System Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction for the Advanced Device Template within the EcoStruxure Foresight platform. You will define scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures enabling automated onboarding and rich UX graphics.

You will act as the technical authority for the Bangalore team, mentor frontend developers, and, when required, dual-hat as Product Owner while collaborating with global teams

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on system architecture.
• Strong understanding of modern web-based systems, frontend-heavy and API-driven.
• Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Experience collaborating with UX/UI design and evaluating architectural feasibility.
• Experience designing high-performance, real-time systems and web performance optimization.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for frontend applications.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and working with DevOps roles.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Software & System Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of creating and maintaining the Advanced Device Template (ADT) capabilities within the EcoStruxure Foresight platform. This role is responsible for defining scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures that enable easy and automated onboarding methods and creating rich, user-centric graphics and graphics library which are intuitive.

You will act as the technical authority for the Bangalore-based team, guiding the team on system architecture while collaborating closely with global teams. The role combines hands-on architectural leadership, strong UX/UI awareness, technical mentoring, and the ability to dual-hat as Product Owner for the Bangalore team when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall software and frontend architecture of ADT capabilities within the EcoStruxure Foresight platform.
• Working knowledge of Agentic AI workflows to automate system integration and field engineering workflows.
• Architect scalable, high-performance, and automated solutions supporting ADT low code/no code interface graphic libraries with field engineer friendly workflows
• Provide architectural guidelines, define technical standards, and translate functional requirements into clear technical requirements and solution designs.
• Guide frontend architecture using modern frameworks and component-based design principles, ensuring consistency, reusability, and long-term maintainability.
• Work hands-on with UX/UI design concepts, ensuring architectural decisions support intuitive, efficient, and consistent user experiences.
• Collaborate closely with the UX design team on interaction models, design systems, and feasibility of design solutions.
• Collaborate with Offering, Solution Architects, Application engineers, Eco experts, backend teams, and global stakeholders to ensure proper system integration and interface contracts.
• Act as the technical mentor and coach for frontend developers in Bangalore, including architecture reviews and code reviews.
• Support architectural decision-making related to performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Work with protocols such as Modbus, Bacnet, ION, Modbus TCP, or similar protocols relevant to EBO systems.
• Ensure solutions follow secure-by-design principles, aligned with cybersecurity requirements for security platforms.
• Lead architectural PoCs and technical evaluations to validate new concepts, technologies, and integration approaches.
• When required, dual-hat as Product Owner, supporting backlog prioritization, technical roadmap alignment, and coordination with global product management.

Technical Requirements

• 12–15 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on system architecture and large-scale software platforms.
• Strong architectural understanding of modern web-based systems, including frontend-heavy and API-driven architectures.
• Solid knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Node.js, with the ability to guide teams on frontend architecture and best practices (hands-on experience preferred).
• Proven experience working closely with UX/UI design, including evaluating designs from an architectural and technical feasibility perspective.
• Experience designing and optimizing high-performance, real-time systems, including event-driven and streaming use cases.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization, browser behavior, and frontend scalability considerations.
• Experience working with API-based systems and defining interface contracts.
• Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience collaborating with DevOps and test engineering roles.
• Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams and locations.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles relevant to access control, video systems, and frontend applications.

• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to influence architectural decisions across teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in a global, cross-functional environment with distributed teams.

• Good judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Building Management Systems.
• Knowledge of building onboarding and commissioning is a definite plus.
• Exposure to cloud-connected platforms and hybrid architectures involving edge and central systems.
