Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer - Wastewater/Water based in Mumbai, Bangalore or Gurugram, India. The role requires 10–14 years of Mechanical Engineering experience with strong technical leadership and ability to work across global project teams.

You will prepare specifications, review drawings, coordinate with design groups and support development of innovative water/wastewater solutions. This is a hybrid role requiring office presence several days weekly.

Qualifications

• B. Tech/B.E- Mechanical
• 10–14 years of Mechanical Engineering experience, ideally with Middle East/US/UK exposure
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer-Wastewater/Water be based in Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurugram, India. Candidates will be responsible for the following activities:

• Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
• Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
• Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
• May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
• May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
• May review and approve conceptual designs.
• May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:

• B. Tech/B.E- Mechanical
• Applicants must have between 10-14 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Middle East/US/UK experience, which would be desirable but are not essential.
• Good communication skills, and ability to work well independently at times.
• Able to see the “bigger picture” and take a birds-eye view of projects
• Confident, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
