Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water/Wastewater/Desalination) in India to contribute to multi-disciplinary water projects across global offices. The role involves electrical design input, SLDs, load schedules and collaboration with project teams to meet milestones.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years in water/wastewater and strong software experience. Hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• B.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 6-10 years of experience in wastewater/water industry.
• Design of Electrical Distribution Systems for LV and HV systems.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Sizing calculations for transformers, generators, HV/LV cables, AC UPS, capacitor banks.
• Indoor lighting, outdoor illumination, earthing and lightning protection calculations.
• Hands-on with ETAP/SKM/Amtech.
• Load flow, short circuit, motor starting and protection relay studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input into electrical design deliverables for complex multi-disciplinary projects and manage time and budgets.
• Prepare SLDs, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specs, control philosophies and network architecture.
• Lead and produce technical deliverables and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Provide technical support for bid proposals.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to QA standards in design and check/ review work.
• Lead teams in design work following codes and meet project milestones.

We are seeking Senior Electrical Design Engineer- (Water/Wastewater/Desalination) in India. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful Water & Wastewater Treatment projects across global offices and continue developing their technical expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.

• Responsible for Providing technical input into project design deliverables for Electrical aspects of complex multi‑disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programs.
• Prepares a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables. Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Prepares increasingly complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Acquainted with the Electrical design softwares used in the industry for electrical calculations and sizing.
• Responsible for leading and producing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
• Work independently with minimal technical guidance. Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Provide technical support for bid proposals.
• Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design including check and review of own work as well as others.
• Work in and leadteamsto undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high‑quality levels. Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./M.Tech. (preferred) in ElectricalEngineering field from a recognized university.
• 6-10 Years of experience in wastewater/water industry.
• Design (Concept, FEED and Detail Design) of Electrical Distribution Systems for - Low Voltage, High Voltage Electrical system
• Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process and related engineering works-Pumping Stations, Desalination etc
• Perform Equipment sizing calculations e.g. Transformer, Generator, HV/LV Cables, AC UPS, Capacitor Banks
• Perform indoor Lighting, outdoor area Illumination and Street Illumination in Dialux or vendor software, calculations for Earthing and Lightning Protection.
• Hands on experience of System Studies software like ETAP/SKM/Amtech
• Experience in modeling electrical system and carry out load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection relay setting studies
