Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accomplished Cloud and Platform Engineering leader to drive end-to-end technical delivery of cloud-based web applications in a fast-paced environment.

You will define and execute the strategic roadmap for engineering platforms, design scalable cloud architectures, and lead CI/CD and DevSecOps modernization efforts while ensuring security, governance, and operational excellence across the stack.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
12+ years of technology experience.
At least 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps leadership roles.
Deep expertise in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or similar public cloud platforms.
Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or equivalent.
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Expertise in cloud security, identity management, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices.
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end technical delivery of web applications, including design, development, quality, and performance.
Coordinate and review the work of other engineers.
Define and drive the strategic roadmap for cloud engineering platforms and services.
Design scalable, resilient, secure cloud architectures and establish enterprise standards for cloud adoption.
Lead architecture reviews and drive modernization of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
Establish governance, risk, and compliance controls with security and audit teams.
Drive platform automation, IaC, and self-service engineering initiatives.
Improve developer experience through automation and reusable patterns.
Lead root cause analysis and incident resolution for platform health.

Deliver end-to-end technical delivery of web applications, including technical design, development, quality, and performance
Coordinate and review the work of other engineers
Integrate and provide overall product support across the technology stack
Define and drive the strategic roadmap for cloud engineering platforms and services
Design scalable, resilient, secure, and highly available cloud architectures
Establish enterprise standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud adoption and engineering
Evaluate emerging technologies and lead architecture reviews
Lead development and enhancement of self-service engineering platforms
Drive Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, and platform automation initiatives
Improve developer experience through automation, standardization, and reusable engineering patterns
Drive CI/CD modernization and DevSecOps adoption
Establish secure-by-design practices, automated quality gates, vulnerability management, and compliance controls
Define monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting strategies
Drive SRE and operational excellence practices and establish service health metrics, KPIs, SLIs, and SLOs
Lead root cause analysis and resolution of critical platform incidents
Ensure cloud platforms meet security, regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements
Establish governance frameworks and partner with Risk, Security, and Audit teams on controls and remediation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
12+ years of technology experience
At least 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps leadership roles
Deep expertise in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or similar public cloud platforms
Strong experience designing enterprise-scale cloud solutions and shared engineering platforms
Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or equivalent
Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
Expertise in cloud security, identity management, governance, and compliance frameworks
Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation and modernization initiatives
Preferred: cloud certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect
Preferred: experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Harness, or similar platforms
Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and modern application architectures
Preferred: knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and cloud governance frameworks
Preferred: experience leading platform engineering or internal developer platform initiatives
Preferred: exposure to enterprise-scale security, risk, and regulatory environments
