About the Role
The Principal, Indirects Procurement - Data & Digital enablement is responsible for tailoring and executing technology-driven transformation and operational excellence for end-to-end sourcing of Indirects materials and services. This role leads the adoption, integration, and optimization of technologies, automation capabilities and AI enabled solutions to enhance efficiency, transparency, and value delivery across indirect materials and services, working closely with internal stakeholders and procurement buyers managing them. The role works at the intersection of Procurement, Technology, Data, and Operations to build a modern, digitally enabled set of processes and analytics, by leveraging advanced digital tools, process automation, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Transformation
- Translate the procurement digital strategy and execute it for indirect materials and services
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize sourcing processes
- Lead implementation of procurement technologies (e.g., e-sourcing, SRM, analytics platforms) across indirect materials and services
- Drive adoption of digital tools across global indirect materials and services sourcing teams
Sourcing Excellence (Indirect Materials & Services)
- Partner with category managers to enhance sourcing strategies using data insights
- Enable should-cost modeling, clean-sheet analysis, and digital RFx processes
- Improve supplier selection, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management through digital tools
Data & Analytics
- Establish data governance and improve data quality across indirect materials and services sourcing systems
- Develop dashboards and KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, risk metrics)
- Leverage predictive analytics for demand, pricing trends, and supply risk
Supplier Collaboration & Innovation
- Drive implementation and adoption of digital supplier collaboration platforms (SRM tools)
- Enhance transparency and real-time communication with key suppliers
- Drive supplier innovation programs using digital channels
Process Automation
- Map and optimise procurement processes for efficiency and scalability
- Deploy automation (RPA, AI tools) for transactional sourcing activities
- Reduce cycle times for sourcing and supplier onboarding
Risk & Resilience
- Integrate digital tools for supply risk monitoring and mitigation
- Improve visibility into tier-2/3 suppliers through integration, data insights and automation
- Support ESG and compliance tracking through digital solutions
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the bridge between Procurement, Tech, Finance, and Corporate Functions
- Lead change management and training for digital adoption for indirect materials and services
- Influence senior stakeholders on digital investment and value realization
Basic Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Risk Management, or a related field; alternatively, any bachelor's degree combined with relevant experience
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, digital transformation, procurement technology, or related areas
- Experience implementing procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, or Ivalua
- Proven track record of delivering automation initiatives and process transformation programs
- Knowledge of automation technologies (RPA, AI, workflow tools), data analytics, and dashboarding
- High level of fluency in spoken and written English
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience managing teams directly and influencing stakeholders indirectly across functions
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and business case development skills
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, best practices, policies, and tools
- Experience leading large-scale projects and end-to-end service/operations management
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed and global environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, learning agility, and ability to work independently with limited oversight
