Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineer with 15+ years in heavy civil concrete structures for sub- and super-structure analysis. You will use SAFE, ROBOT, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, IDEA Statica and RAM Connections to deliver compliant designs across concept to detailed stages, coordinating with teams in the UK, France and Canada within the GTC Nuclear New Build group.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in heavy civils concrete structures.
• Design and FEA analysis of buildings, tunnels, and pipe support structures.
• Seismic qualification of machinery support structures.
• Experience in ABAQUS/ANSYS/Robot or similar software.
• High level technical report writing and review.
• Knowledge of IS, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes and CSA.
• Experience in industrial plant / power plant / oil & gas projects.
• Specialized in dynamic & seismic analysis with soil-structure interaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and assure quality of structural designs from concept to detailed stages.
• Collaborate with international teams (UK, France, Canada) within the GTC Nuclear New Build group.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements within time and cost constraints.

Overview

Seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in concrete and steel structure design, specializing in both sub-structure and super structure analysis and design and proficient in tools such as SAFE, ROBOT, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, IDEA Statica, and RAM Connections. The engineer will assist with the development, coordination, and quality assurance of structural designs across concept, preliminary, and detailed stages, ensuring full compliance with relevant codes and project requirements while collaborating with teams across the UK, France, and Canada within the GTC Nuclear New Build group. This role involves multidisciplinary coordination and contributing to safe, durable, and constructible structural solutions for a variety of building types and project environments, supporting NNB projects.

Your role

• Preferably Chartered Engineer or progressing towards their Chartership
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Commercial awareness.
• Team working, being comfortable working in international teams.
• A sound understanding of structural analysis methods and structural/building design including applicable codes and standards.
• Able to identify the key issues/information associate with a task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ensure projects are delivered to Atkins internal quality standards and processes and industry standards within cost schedule and quality constraints.
• Gather and maintain all criteria to ensure that the work meets all requirements.

About you

• Minimum year of experience in heavy civils Concrete structures - 15+ Years
• Design and FEA Analysis of Buildings, Tunnels, pipes support structures for the plant design
• Design of Seismic Qualification of machinery support structures.
• Experience in any of the software like ABAQUS/ANSYS/Robot etc.
• High level technical report writing skill and report review
• International code - IS, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes and CSA
• Report writing skills are highly preferred.
• Experience in projects related to Industrial Plant/Power Plant/Oil & Gas.
• Specialized in Dynamic & Seismic analysis of structures with soil structures interaction.
