AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior Structural Engineer with 15+ years of experience in heavy civil concrete structures. You will design and analyse buildings, tunnels, and machinery supports, using tools like SAFE, ROBOT, STAAD Pro, ETABS, and RAM Connections.

The role involves global coordination across UK, France and Canada within the GTC Nuclear New Build group. The candidate should be chartered or progressing toward Chartership, with strong communication skills and knowledge of

Overview

Seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in concrete and steel structure design, specializing in both sub‑structure and super‑structure analysis and design and proficient in tools such as SAFE, ROBOT, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, IDEA Statica, and RAM Connections. The engineer will assist with the development, coordination, and quality assurance of structural designs across concept, preliminary, and detailed stages, ensuring full compliance with relevant codes and project requirements while collaborating with teams across the UK, France, and Canada within the GTC Nuclear New Build group. This role involves multidisciplinary coordination and contributing to safe, durable, and constructible structural solutions for a variety of building types and project environments, supporting NNB projects.

Your role

• Preferably Chartered Engineer or progressing towards their Chartership
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Commercial awareness
• Team working, being comfortable working in international teams
• A sound understanding of structural analysis methods and structural/building design including applicable codes and standards
• Able to identify the key issues/information associate with a task
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ensure projects are delivered to Atkins internal quality standards and processes and industry standards within cost schedule and quality constraints
• Gather and maintain all criteria to ensure that the work meets all requirements

About you

• Minimum year of experience in heavy civil concrete structures – 15+ Years
• Design and FEA analysis of buildings, tunnels, pipe support structures for plant design
• Design of seismic qualification of machinery support structures
• Experience in any of the software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, Robot, etc.
• High level technical report writing skill and report review
• International code expertise – IS, ACI, AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes and CSA
• Experience in projects related to industrial plant, power plant, oil & gas
• Specialized in dynamic & seismic analysis of structures with soil‑structure interaction
