Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Engineer to direct the Machinery team, act as SME on equipment operation, failure analysis, and process optimization. You will steer end-to-end solutions by integrating in-house capabilities and driving innovation.

You will lead global technical support, manage assets, mentor teams, and ensure reliability across turbines, compressors, and refinery equipment, leveraging API standards and health monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Refinery or petrochemical background with experience in rotating machinery operation and maintenance.
• Experience in vibration analysis and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of API 610–686 series and rotating equipment in refinery context.
• Experience with turbines, compressors, extruders, fans.
• Experience with Bentley System and Machinery Health Monitoring tools preferred.

Job Requirements

Principal Engineer shall act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to direct Machinery team to achieve Quality of services, Failure analysis, process improvement, process optimization, procedure development, training module development, training evaluation, standard operating procedure development, etc. Principal engineer shall help business to expand by bringing innovation and technology updates. He shall be responsible for combining Quest Global in‑house capabilities to develop end‑to‑end solutions.

Leadership Role in Technical Support

Principal Engineer in leadership role in technical support shall be responsible for management of technical assets across the globe, machinery, customer management, communication, team development, training, coaching, mentoring, and troubleshooting machinery problems. Apart from management tasks he shall be able to resolve complex machine diagnostic issues, guide the team on technical aspects, surveillance, condition monitoring, reliability and maintenance of machinery. He is well versed with oil and gas standard practices and best practices.

Work Experience

Refinery, upstream or petrochemical background with rich experience in rotating machinery operation and maintenance, performance analysis, vibration analysis, troubleshooting, and analysis reporting. Knowledge and thorough understanding of API 610, API 611, API 612, API 616, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 670, API 671, API 672, API 674, API 682 and API 686. Working experience with turbines (gas and steam), multistage centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, extruders, blowers/FD and ID fans, knowledge of upstream rotating equipment, refinery technologies like distillation, hydrocracker, continuous catalytic cracking, fluidized catalytic cracking, delayed coker and other units. Certification Level III or IV in vibration analysis is preferred. Expertise in Bentley System 1, CSI Machinery Health Management software/SKF software or equivalent.
