Job Summary
As our new Senior Engineer/ Engineer - Tunnel Underground Structures you will be part of a world class, innovation driven engineering design centre owned by an independent trust and its employees. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our Indian offices in Gurgaon/ Noida. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a centre for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out the design for tunnels and other underground structures based on Eurocodes and other international standards.
- Lead the production of drawings and review the work of CAD technicians in the team and maintaining quality of deliverables,
- Communication coordination with other colleagues in the wider Tunnels group for the seamless delivery of designs
- Assist in planning and follow-up on the schedules and budgets for the works
Qualifications
- BE/B. Tech in Civil Engineering ME/M.Tech/ MSc degree in Structural Engineering from an institute of repute.
- 6-10 years of experience in the detailed design of underground transportation structures, preferably using Eurocodes or other international design standards.
- Hands-on design experience in Cut cover tunnels or underground stations. Experience in Immersed Tunnel (IMT) design.
- Structural design of reinforced concrete immersed tunnel elements/ segments- sizing of walls, roof and base slabs; longitudinal and transverse reinforcement design
- Global and local analysis - 2D/3D FE modelling (e.g., using SOFiSTiK, LUSAS) for ULS, SLS, ALS and seismic combinations. Automation using grasshopper and teddy would be an added advantage.
- Casting and construction stage analysis - heat of hydration / early-age thermal cracking (to CIRIA C766 / C660), shrinkage, creep
- Understanding Fire Design, Seismic Design, Interface design, Immersion joints and segment joints, Water-tightness specs, floatation stability checks.
- Experience in the design of temporary enabling structures such as steel strut-waler systems, SBP/CBP, and diaphragm walls is desirable.
- Exposure to European projects or prior experience working with European/international consultants will be beneficial.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and project managers to ensure timely project delivery.
