Job summary

WSP in India is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer with a Bachelor's or post-graduate degree and 10-15 years of experience for responsibilities in highway design projects. The ideal candidate will prepare technical analyses, manage documentation, and coordinate with teams to deliver technical excellence.

Strong software skills in Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and additional qualifications in technical writing are preferred. This role requires a dynamic individual dedicated to meeting client milestones and delivering quality work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical analysis and design; including cost estimating, quantity calculations, etc.
• Prepare and review drawings and presentation materials.
• Manage contract specifications and documentation.
• Coordinate with discipline team members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or post‑graduate degree in Civil Engineering with 10‑15 years of post‑graduate experience in a consultancy or developer.
• Experience with all aspects of highway/freeway design (alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety, contract specifications/documents, quantities, constructability).
• Strong abilities to work with various software packages (Civil 3D, OpenRoads, Inroads a plus, Microstation, CAD, Microsoft Office).
• Experience with technical writing and minute preparation.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and estimate design level of effort, meeting milestone schedule deliverables.
• General understanding of traffic engineering principles.
• Solid understanding of QA/QC as well as Environmental Health and Safety practices/requirements.
• Dynamic, self‑motivated individual who will assist senior engineers on project work, focused on delivery to the client and technical excellence.
• Ability to design deliverables against Canada Engineering standards for each stage of a project is preferred and training will be provided.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Committed team player with cultural awareness.
• English spoken and written. French spoken and written a plus.

Desirable Skills

• Professional licencing within Canada or pursuing is an asset.
• Understanding of other road design requirements (drainage/hydraulic design, environmental design/mitigation measures, engineering surveys, geotechnical investigations and design).
• Understanding of Provincial Ministry of Transportation, Canadian standards and design practices is an asset.
• Familiarity with Canadian regulatory environment and experience with approval processes is an asset.
