Role Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Principal Engineer – C++ Application Domain to provide technical leadership and drive engineering excellence across complex, large-scale software systems.
In this role, you will solve challenging technical problems, influence architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance applications.
You will play a key role in shaping technology direction while remaining hands‑on with engineering and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions.
- Contribute across the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, feasibility assessment, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex application, software, and system‑level technical challenges.
- Drive best practices around code quality, security, testing, code reviews, refactoring, and engineering standards.
- Build applications that are reliable, observable, maintainable, and easy to operate.
- Apply strong technical expertise across application architecture, distributed systems, infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments.
Architecture & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the evolution of application and system architecture.
- Drive modernization initiatives and help reduce technical debt.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Recommend improvements to engineering processes, development methodologies, and delivery practices.
- Contribute to long‑term technology strategy and architectural direction.
Collaboration & Technical Influence
- Work closely with engineering, product, architecture, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful technology solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, encouraging a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices through engineering forums, communities, workshops, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
- Act as a technical ambassador by contributing to hackathons, conferences, technical communities, recruitment initiatives, and open‑source projects, where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience.
- Strong hands‑on expertise in C++.
- Strong experience working with Linux‑based environments.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting application systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application architectures.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and modern application platforms.
- Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Experience with software design, architecture, performance optimization, and system reliability.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design principles, and development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence technical decisions and provide leadership across multiple teams.
