Apollo Homecare seeks a Principal Engineer & Architect to lead engineering strategy, architecture and hands-on delivery across web, mobile, cloud and AI platforms.

You will mentor teams, set coding standards, and solve complex technical challenges, while contributing to production code and ensuring scalable, secure healthtech solutions.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in CSE/IT from top institutes is mandatory.
• Masters in Computer Science is a plus.
• Product-based company experience required.
• Expert-level software engineering across backend, frontend and mobile.
• Deep expertise in Node.js, Java or Python and React/Next.js.
• Strong experience building React Native apps for Android and iOS.

Job description

The Principal Engineer & Architect is the highest technical authority within Apollo Homecare's Engineering organization.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for designing, building, and scaling our technology platforms. You will solve the organization's most complex technical challenges, define enterprise architecture, establish engineering standards, mentor engineering teams, and remain an active contributor to the codebase.

You will work across backend, frontend, mobile, cloud, data and AI to build secure, scalable and resilient healthcare technology products.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Architecture

• Design and build scalable, production-grade applications across web, mobile and cloud.
• Define enterprise architecture, technology standards and engineering best practices.
• Build reusable platforms, frameworks and shared services that accelerate product development.
• Make architectural decisions balancing scalability, performance, security and business outcomes.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to critical production code.

Full Stack Engineering

• Design and develop backend services, APIs, integrations and distributed systems.
• Build responsive web and mobile applications using modern frameworks.
• Design scalable databases, workflows and enterprise integrations.
• Solve complex production issues and optimize application performance.
• Design and build AI-enabled products using LLMs, RAG, vector databases and agentic workflows.
• Build scalable data pipelines and data models supporting analytics and AI.
• Drive AI-assisted software development across the engineering team.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish best practices.

Cloud, Security & Platform

• Design cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Establish CI/CD, observability, Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices.
• Define security architecture and ensure compliance with healthcare security standards.
• Optimize platform reliability, scalability and cloud costs.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor Lead Engineers and Senior Engineers.
• Drive engineering quality through architecture reviews and code reviews.
• Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex engineering challenges.
• Partner with Product, Design and Business teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• BE/BTech from Tier 1 Engineering Colleges only – CSE /IT (Mandatory)
• Masters is Computer science is a plus.
• Must have experience in a Product based company.
• Expert-level software engineering with strong backend, frontend and mobile development experience.
• Deep expertise in Node.js, Java or Python and modern frontend frameworks such as React/Next.js.
• Strong experience building React Native applications for Android and iOS.
• Deep & Proven expertise in distributed systems, REST APIs, microservices and system design.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data modelling, and data engineering.

Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.

• Practical experience building AI-powered applications using LLMs, RAG, vector databases and agentic workflows.
• Strong understanding of secure software development, OWASP and modern DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving and architectural decision-making skills.
• Lead through technical excellence and hands-on execution.
• Build reusable engineering capabilities rather than one-off solutions.
• Establish engineering standards and promote AI-enabled development practices.
• Mentor engineers and cultivate a culture of ownership, quality and continuous learning.
• Stay current with modern engineering trends and drive adoption where they create measurable business value.

Preferred Experience

• Healthcare, SaaS, Enterprise Software, Logistics or FinTech.
• Zero-to-one product development and platform modernization.
