Job description

We are looking for a Principal Engineer with strong experience in designing, building, and scaling high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, architectural depth, and significant ownership of complex systems in strong product environments, preferably B2B or B2B SaaS. Candidates may come from different technology stacks when they demonstrate exceptional engineering and product-building capability.

Responsibilities:

• Take end-to-end ownership of technically complex and business-critical initiatives.
• Define scalable technical solutions and make sound architecture and technology decisions.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to convert business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement across the product and engineering ecosystem.
• Raise engineering standards through design reviews, code quality, mentoring, and technical leadership.

Requirements:

• 7-8 years of strong software engineering experience with significant ownership of complex systems.
• Experience working with strong product companies; B2B / B2B SaaS experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability, performance, reliability, and production engineering.
• Experience building products or platforms operating at meaningful scale, such as large user bases, high traffic, high transaction volumes, or large enterprise/customer footprints.
• Ability to independently drive technical initiatives from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, and production ownership.
• Strong problem-solving, architectural thinking, and technical decision-making skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. AI/ML/GenAI experience is a strong plus, especially experience building or integrating AI capabilities into production products.
• Candidates with strong Node.js + React.js experience are relevant; for candidates with strong AI/ML expertise, the technology stack is open.
• Two Profile Tracks: AI/ML / GenAI Expertise.
• Candidates with strong hands-on expertise in AI/ML, GenAI, LLMs, or AI-powered products can come from any technology stack.
• Node.js and React.js are not mandatory for this profile.
• Strong preference for candidates who have built, integrated, scaled, or operated production-grade AI/ML systems.
• Experience translating AI capabilities into reliable, scalable product features is highly relevant.
• Strong Software Engineering: Node.js + React.js . For candidates without significant AI/ML expertise, strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React.js is mandatory.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong backend and frontend engineering fundamentals along with ownership of scalable product features.
• Experience with system design, APIs, distributed systems, performance optimisation, and production reliability is expected.
