Responsibilities

• Partner with product and executive leadership to inform and implement company strategy; translate ambiguous requirements into concrete plans.
• Be a strong, hands-on contributor delivering code and features day-to-day.
• Drive technical strategy and architecture for the product across engineering domains.
• Champion operational excellence: reliability, quality, and risk reduction; document and oversee engineering standards.
• Own security and compliance posture (SOC 2, data integrity, 21 CFR Part 11 considerations).
• Mentor and grow the team through trainings, conferences, and hiring efforts.
• Represent engineering with customers and stakeholders; collaborate with internal teams.
• Be AI-literate and help educate stakeholders on how latest technologies can inform the product roadmap.
• Educate internal stakeholders on how technologies work and contribute ideas to product conversations.

Position Overview

Weʼre seeking a principal software engineer who is passionate, experienced and skilled, versatile, and customer-and business- oriented. In this role, we will also need someone who is full-stack and polyglot (see specific technologies below). This is a critical technical leadership role. As a principal engineer you will define the technical direction of our forecasting product, allowing us to scale and mentoring other engineers. You will also operate as a primary technical authority across multidisciplinary teams, partnering tightly with customers, partners and especially internal stakeholders, translating fundamental needs into technological solutions that drive the business.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with product and executive leadership to inform and implement company strategy. Work with internal stakeholders such as Product and UX to rapidly distill initially ambiguous requirements into concrete and actionable plans
• Be a strong, hands‑on contributor delivering code and features day‑to‑day
• Drive technical strategy and architecture for our product across all engineering domains
• Champion operational excellence: reliability, quality, and continuous risk reduction across the product. Document and oversee implementation of the engineering standards that ensure it.
• Own the security and compliance posture appropriate our product, e.g. SOC 2,data integrity, and potentially GxP/21 CFR Part 11 consideration
• Accelerate application development and uplevel engineering staff via mentorship and selecting relevant trainings, conferences, and events for the team
• Help grow the team: interviewing, hiring, and raising the technical bar as we scale
• Represent engineering with customers and other internal and external stakeholders
• Be AI‑literate, leveraging the latest technologies to inform the technical and
• Product roadmap. You will educate internal stakeholders on how the latest technologies work and contribute key ideas to conversations about how they can be leveraged in the product

Required Skills

• A proven track record of architecting, scaling, and maintaining complex, scaled systems
• Past responsibilities involve systems with large numbers of users in environments where quality, security, and reliability are critical
• Polyglot mastery and a proven ability to learn new languages and architectures.
• Ability to hit the ground running — someone who is already proficient in our current stack:
  • TypeScript, React, and NodeJS
  • Rust ideally (ideally), or Go/C++
  • Amazon Web Services and Azure (ideally), or equivalent
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, or equivallent
  • Infrastructure-as-code solutions like Terraform, Pulumi or equivalent

Experience

12+ years of engineering excellence

Education

Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or other relevant field preferred
