Job summary

Fidelity International in Gurgaon, India seeks a Principal Engineer to drive engineering excellence across the Client Experience Platform (CEP). You will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-native CEP services using Java and Python, while guiding teams on architecture and best practices.

Responsibilities include leading the PaaS-to-Kubernetes migration, shaping API strategies (REST/GraphQL/event-driven), and advancing GenAI integrations with strong DevSecOps, CI/CD and IaC

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering with enterprise-level impact.
• Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Experience leading cloud-native platform modernization or Kubernetes migration initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver core CEP services using Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus) and Python, APIs.
• Lead CEP's migration from PaaS to Kubernetes, including containerization, deployment patterns and scalability.
• Translate architectural direction into practical engineering solutions, patterns and guardrails.
• Define and evolve REST, GraphQL and event-driven APIs and integrations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for shaping scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions while influencing engineering practices across multiple teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and deliver core CEP services using Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus) and Python, API’sDevelop reusable frameworks, libraries, engineering standards and reference implementations adopted across teams.Lead CEP's migration from PaaS to Kubernetes, including containerization, deployment patterns and scalability.Translate architectural direction into practical engineering solutions, patterns and guardrails.Design and evolve REST, GraphQL and event-driven APIs and integrations.Drive adoption of Generative AI solutions including LLM integrations, RAG and agentic AI capabilities.Define and embed DevSecOps best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning and Infrastructure as Code.Ensure observability, resilience, security and performance are built into solutions from the outset.Lead design reviews, code reviews and resolution of complex technical challenges.Identify and address technical debt, engineering risks and platform improvement opportunities.Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering capability across the organization.What We're Looking For12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong technical depth and enterprise-level influence.Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems and modern software architecture.Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).Experience leading cloud-native platform modernization or Kubernetes migration initiatives.Strong API and integration experience including REST, GraphQL, event-driven architectures, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC.Deep understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, GitHub Actions/Jenkins and Argo CD.Experience delivering production-grade GenAI solutions including LLM integration, RAG and conversational or agentic AI applications.Proven track record of building reusable engineering frameworks, standards or platform capabilities adopted across multiple teams.Strong stakeholder management, mentoring and technical leadership skills.You will consistently ask: Is it aligned with our architecture?
