Job summary

Fidelity International in Gurgaon, India is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive engineering excellence across the Client Experience Platform (CEP). This hands-on leadership role shapes scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions and guides multiple teams.

You will mentor senior engineers, design REST/GraphQL APIs, lead Kubernetes migrations, and embed DevSecOps, IaC, and GenAI capabilities to elevate platform capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with enterprise influence.
• Expertise in Java/Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems and modern software architecture.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver CEP services using Java and Python.
• Lead CEP’s Kubernetes migration and scalability efforts.
• Define APIs including REST, GraphQL, and event-driven patterns.
• Embed DevSecOps practices: CI/CD, security scanning, IaC.
• Ensure observability, resilience, and performance from the start.
• Mentor senior engineers and reduce technical debt.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to drive engineering excellence across the Client Experience Platform (CEP). This is a hands‑on technical leadership role responsible for shaping scalable, secure, and cloud‑native solutions while influencing engineering practices across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver core CEP services using Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus) and Python, API’s
• Develop reusable frameworks, libraries, engineering standards and reference implementations adopted across teams.
• Lead CEP’s migration from PaaS to Kubernetes, including containerization, deployment patterns and scalability.
• Translate architectural direction into practical engineering solutions, patterns and guardrails.
• Design and evolve REST, GraphQL and event‑driven APIs and integrations.
• Drive adoption of Generative AI solutions including LLM integrations, RAG and agentic AI capabilities.
• Define and embed DevSecOps best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ensure observability, resilience, security and performance are built into solutions from the outset.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews and resolution of complex technical challenges.
• Identify and address technical debt, engineering risks and platform improvement opportunities.
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate engineering capability across the organization.

What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience with strong technical depth and enterprise‑level influence.
• Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems and modern software architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Experience leading cloud‑native platform modernization or Kubernetes migration initiatives.
• Strong API and integration experience including REST, GraphQL, event‑driven architectures, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC.
• Deep understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, GitHub Actions/Jenkins and Argo CD.
• Experience delivering production‑grade GenAI solutions including LLM integration, RAG and conversational or agentic AI applications.
• Proven track record of building reusable engineering frameworks, standards or platform capabilities adopted across multiple teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, mentoring and technical leadership skills.
