Job summary

Enerzinx is seeking a seasoned Power System Engineer to lead a dynamic engineering team responsible for steady-state and dynamic stability analyses of renewable energy systems and utility-scale power networks. You will develop and validate models for inverters and plant controllers across PSSE, PSCAD, DigSILENT, and EMTP-RV, while driving data-driven insights and automation efforts.

The role requires 10–15 years of experience, deep knowledge of grid codes, and strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, Power Systems or related field.
• 10–15 years experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, DigSILENT, EMTP-RV.
• Strong knowledge of power system dynamics, renewable integration, and grid code.
• Experience with RMS/EMT studies and data analysis techniques.
• Automation/scripting for simulation tools (Python, MATLAB) a plus.
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power System Engineer and a leader to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team and conducting steady-state and dynamic stability analyses for renewable energy systems including solar, wind, and energy storage, as well as utility-scale power systems. This role also involves model development, data analysis, and contributing to simulation automation efforts.

Reporting to: President Industry: Renewable Energy / Power Systems / Electrical Engineering Services

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of power system engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and quality review of studies.
• Perform steady-state and dynamic stability studies for solar, wind, storage plants, and utility power systems.
• Develop and validate models for inverters and power plant controllers in PSSE, PSCAD, DigSILENT Power Factory, and EMTP-RV.
• Conduct power quality studies, including RMS and EMT simulations, and analyze bulk transmission and distributed generation system data.
• Prepare comprehensive engineering reports that clearly document methodologies, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
• Carry out Grid Performance Standards (GPS) compliance studies.
• Support the automation of PSCAD simulations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform benchmarking and validate models between PSS E and PSCAD environments.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful study completion and compliance with technical standards.
• Stay updated with evolving power systems standards, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
• 10-15 years experience in power system analysis tools such as PSS E, PSCAD, DigSILENT, and EMTP-RV.
• Strong understanding of power system dynamics, renewable energy integration, and grid code compliance.
• Proficiency in RMS and EMT studies, and familiarity with data analysis techniques.
• Experience with automation/scripting for simulation tools is a plus (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with national and international grid codes and standards (e.g., NERC, IEC, CIGR ).
• Knowledge of control systems in renewable energy plants.
• Exposure to benchmarking and validation techniques across simulation platforms.
• Prior experience with power system consulting or utility environments is advantageous.
