What will you get to work on?

As the Lead Backend Engineer at Osfin.ai, you will

• Own high‑level system design for scalable, reliable, and observable services while improving engineering quality through strong code reviews, architecture decisions, and operational best practices.
• Design and implement AI‑powered development workflows, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and establish guardrails for responsible AI adoption across the team.
• Partner closely with stakeholders to influence product direction, propose technical solutions that improve business outcomes, and proactively monitor system and product metrics.
• Own service reliability goals, improve observability and incident response processes, lead post‑mortems, and drive long‑term operational improvements across systems.
• Mentor and guide engineers through feedback and coaching, lead onboarding and interview processes, and drive cross‑team collaboration with clear technical communication.

What do we expect from you?

• 8+ years of backend engineering with a track record of owning and operating production services independently — no hand‑holding required.
• Production on‑call experience — you've written post‑mortems and fixed your own incidents.
• Design judgement already formed: walk into a problem, propose the right approach, and defend it independently.
• Strong in a backend stack spanning batch processing frameworks, relational databases, async messaging and distributed systems patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and make a team measurably better.
