Job summary

Ramboll India is seeking a highly detailed and technically skilled Civil CAD Designer (Aviation) to join our aviation engineering team in Mumbai. You will develop and manage 2D and 3D civil design drawings for airports, collaborating with senior engineers and stakeholders to translate concepts into precise technical packages for runways, taxiways, and airfield utilities.

You will contribute to projects across military and commercial airfields, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in CAD production for civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in aviation/airport projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant BIM tools; working knowledge of MicroStation preferred.
• Knowledge of airport design standards and civil drawing practices.

Responsibilities

• Development and review of 2D and 3D construction drawings.
• Assist drafting design efforts for military and commercial airfields (earthwork, pavements, drainage).
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians across the discipline group.
• Support overall management of construction drawings for projects.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly detailed and technically skilled Civil CAD Designer (Aviation) to join our aviation engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the development, modification, and management of complex 2D and 3D civil engineering design models and construction drawings for commercial, military, and general aviation airports. You will collaborate closely with senior aviation engineers, project managers, and airport stakeholders to translate design concepts into precise technical packages for runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage systems, and airfield utilities.

You will join our Aviation department:

As our newCAD Designer, Civil, you will work with the team to deliver work in close collaboration with Ramboll colleagues based across the business. You will be part of the Aviation team in India. You will work as part of a lively team, filled with people who are really excited about creating the solutions for the future. Our team is vibrant, innovative, international, and supportive. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in defining and delivering projects. Based on a strong future pipeline of work we are now looking to expand the team. The role requires an inquisitive mind, capable of developing innovative and sustainable outcomes to support our clients.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Development and review of 2D and 3D construction drawings
• Work under the supervision of senior staff to assist drafting design efforts for military and commercial airfields including, but not limited to, such disciplines as earthwork, pavements, and drainage
• Work closely on project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group
• Provide support in the overall management of construction drawings for projects
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and handle shifting project deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Drafting Technology, or related discipline
• 6+ years of experience in CAD production for civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in aviation/airport projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant BIM tools, working knowledge of MicroStation preferred.
• Knowledge of airport design standards, civil engineering drawing practices, and construction documentation.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
