Job summary

Aarvian in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Data Scientist who writes production-grade code and ships end-to-end ML systems, including pipelines, feature engineering, training, serving, and monitoring. You will dive deep on ensemble methods, causal inference, uplift modeling, and build Agentic AI with multi-agent workflows and RAG pipelines using LangChain.

This role owns retail use cases such as demand forecasting and price optimization, and offers direct access to the AI/ML CoE owner to shape

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data science/ML engineering with hands-on production experience.
• Built and deployed models at real production scale.
• Expert Python and advanced SQL; write production-grade code.
• Experience with Agentic AI or autonomous business actions.
• Familiarity with PySpark/Databricks andML Ops fundamentals.
• Retail/E-commerce/CPG exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design & ship production ML systems end-to-end — pipelines, feature engineering, training, serving, monitoring.
• Go deep on ensemble methods and causal inference for accurate models.

Not another chatbot role. Not another "AI strategy" role.

Aarvian is looking for a Senior Data Scientist who is still deep in the code — someone who spends 60% of their time building and shipping production ML and Agentic AI systems, and the other 40% acting as the technical quality gate for a fast-moving AI/ML team working on real enterprise problems.

If your last 12 months has been mostly stakeholder decks, dashboards, or managing people who build models — this isn't the right fit. We need a builder.

What You'll Do

• Design & ship production ML systems end-to-end — pipelines, feature engineering, training, serving, monitoring (not notebooks, not POCs)
• Go deep on XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, Random Forest — and beyond, into ensemble methods, causal inference, and uplift modelling
• Build real Agentic AI — multi-agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM-powered process automation using LangChain, LlamaIndex, simplAI, or similar
• Own retail use cases: demand forecasting, markdown/price optimisation, promotional uplift, inventory intelligence, personalisation
• Review architectures, approve model designs, and hold the technical bar for everything your team ships
• Work directly with Aarvian's AI/ML CoE owner — no filters, no extra management layers

What You Bring

• 8+ years in data science/ML engineering, hands-on throughout your career
• Models you personally built and deployed at real production scale — not pilots, not handovers
• Expert Python and advanced SQL — you write production-quality code and pull your own data
• Real Agentic AI experience — systems that execute autonomous business actions, not FAQ bots or demo-ware
• PySpark/Databricks (or equivalent) and MLOps fundamentals — MLflow, drift monitoring, CI/CD for ML
• Retail, FMCG, e-commerce, or CPG domain exposure is a strong plus

• Your AI experience is primarily chatbot/virtual assistant development
• You haven't personally written production code in the last year
