The role requires steering curriculum, policies, and processes while building a strong core team of coordinators and subject leads.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years in school education, including 4+ years in principal-level roles, and deep CBSE/NEP knowledge.

• Education: Postgraduate degree with B.Ed. (M.Ed. preferred).
• Experience: 12+ years in school education, including at least 4 years as Principal, Vice Principal or Academic Head.
• Curriculum Expertise: Proven experience writing or rebuilding a curriculum framework and training teachers to deliver it.
• Policy and Administration: Hands-on experience writing school policies and SOPs and running day-to-day school operations.
• Team Leadership: Track record of building and leading coordinators or HODs, with at least 3 years in one leadership role.
• Board Knowledge: Strong understanding of CBSE requirements and NEP 2020.
• Communication: Excellent spoken and written English; confident with parents, staff and management.

Reports to: Founders / Management

Position Overview

Works closely with: Founders, Section Coordinators (Pre-primary, Primary, Middle and Secondary), Subject Leads, Admissions and Administration teams, and Parents.

Role Purpose

Lead the school in both academics and administration. Strengthen the curriculum, review and build clear school policies and systems, and develop a trained core team so the school runs with consistency, balance and high standards at every level. We are looking for a leader who will stay for the long term and build something lasting.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Academic Leadership

• Strengthen and document the curriculum framework from Pre-primary to Grade 10, in line with CBSE and NEP 2020.
• Embed project-based and activity-based learning up to middle school.
• Set clear standards for lesson planning, assessment, reporting and homework.
• Track student learning, identify gaps and lead interventions; prepare students for Board exams and Olympiads.

Policies, Systems and Administration

• Review existing school policies, identify gaps and write clear, practical new ones: HR and leave, staff conduct, fees and admissions, discipline, child safety and safeguarding, transport and parent communication.
• Create SOPs for daily operations: timetables, substitutions, staff attendance, records and documentation.
• Work with management on the annual plan, budgets and staffing needs.
• Ensure CBSE compliance, inspection readiness and statutory records.

Team Building and Teacher Development

• Build and mentor a core team of section coordinators and subject leads with clear roles and accountability.
• Lead teacher induction, an annual training calendar, classroom observations and constructive feedback.
• Build a culture of ownership so systems run consistently every day.

Parent and Community Engagement

• Build strong, trusting relationships with parents through clear and regular communication.
• Handle parent and staff concerns fairly and consistently.
• Support admissions, student retention and school events.

Required Skills/Abilities
