Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata/RAC DBA to join the Customer Success team in Bengaluru. You will administer Exadata and RAC environments, perform upgrades, migrations and patching, and provide expert troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate with customers and global teams to ensure availability and reliability.

The role requires 6+ years in Oracle RAC or engineered systems, with RMAN, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning expertise. Night shifts and on-site work are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Oracle RAC/Engineered systems administration experience.
• Experience with Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, diagnostics and recovery.
• Proven ability to manage Oracle Exadata/RAC environments and upgrades.
• Willingness to work night shifts and to come to office.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for Exadata and RAC environments, including troubleshooting and tuning.
• Administer Exadata/RAC systems: upgrades, migrations, patching.
• Collaborate with customers to capture requirements and advise on best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for Oracle Exadata and RAC environments, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization
• Administer and maintain Exadata and RAC systems, including upgrades, migrations, and patching
• Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide proactive advice and support
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles to support the team and customers
• Participate in 24*7 shift rotations to provide support for Exadata systems
• Work closely with the team to resolve complex technical issues and provide high-quality solutions
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills

Mandatory

• 6+ years of experience in Oracle RAC Database or Engineered systems Administration
• Oracle Data guard, RMAN Backup Recovery, Diagnostics, ASM (automatic Storage Manager)
• Strong experience in facilitating customer relationships with support and providing advice
• Willingness to work in night shifts/US timings
• Willingness to come to office

Good-to-Have

• Experience with Exadata, Golden Gate, OCI, ZDLRA, Performance Tuning
• BE, BTech, MCA, CA or equivalent preferred

Self-Assessment Questions

• Do I have 6–10+ years of hands‑on Oracle DBA experience supporting enterprise and mission‑critical production systems?
• Can I administer and troubleshoot Exadata, RAC and ASM environments and diagnose complex performance or availability problems?
• Have I managed RMAN backup, restore and complex recovery scenarios, and supported Physical Standby, Active Data Guard and Data Guard Broker?
• Have I independently delivered Oracle database installations, upgrades, migrations and patching and resolved critical production incidents under pressure?
• Can I communicate clearly with customers and global support teams and work shifts and weekends when required?
