Job summary

Navodaya Education Trust invites applications for the post of Principal of its Pharmacy College. The Principal will oversee academic, administrative, and operational management, ensuring PCI, RGUHS compliance and promoting research and innovation.

The role requires strategic academic leadership, faculty development, and strong governance to advance accreditation goals and institute growth. 15 years of teaching/research experience with 5 years in leadership is expected.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  • First Class or equivalent in B.Pharm and M.Pharm.
  • Registered Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, wherever applicable.
  • Must satisfy eligibility criteria by PCI, RGUHS, and other regulators for the Principal post.

  • Provide strategic direction for the academic and administrative functioning of the Pharmacy College.
  • Lead and supervise all academic, administrative, and operational activities of the college.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI, RGUHS, AICTE (where applicable), UGC, NAAC, NBA, and other statutory authorities.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Principal to lead our Pharmacy College. The Principal will be responsible for the overall academic, administrative, and operational management of the institution. The role includes ensuring academic excellence, maintaining compliance with PCI, RGUHS, and other applicable regulatory requirements, promoting research and innovation, supporting faculty and student development, and driving the institution's growth and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction for the academic and administrative functioning of the Pharmacy College.
  • Ensure effective implementation of academic policies, curriculum, and institutional objectives.
  • Foster excellence in teaching, learning, research, innovation, and student development.
  • Promote interdisciplinary research, publications, patents, consultancy, and funded research projects.
  • Guide faculty members in academic planning, curriculum delivery, and professional development.
Administration & Governance
  • Lead and supervise all academic, administrative, and operational activities of the college.
  • Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain qualified faculty and staff.
  • Prepare annual academic plans, institutional budgets, and development strategies.
  • Ensure effective utilization of financial, human, and infrastructural resources.
  • Maintain discipline and create a positive academic environment for students and staff.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with the norms and regulations of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), RGUHS, AICTE (where applicable), UGC, and other statutory authorities.
  • Coordinate PCI, RGUHS, NAAC, NBA, and other regulatory inspections and accreditation processes.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, approvals, and documentation.
Research & Quality Enhancement
  • Promote research culture among faculty scholars and students.
  • Encourage publications in reputed journals, sponsored research, consultancy, and innovation activities.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and continuous institutional improvement.
  • Drive accreditation and ranking initiatives including NAAC, NBA, and NIRF.
Industry & Institutional Development
  • Develop collaborations with pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, research organizations, and academic institutions.
  • Strengthen placement activities, internships, industrial training, and alumni engagement.
  • Represent the institution at professional, academic, and regulatory forums.
Qualification
  • Ph.D. in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  • First Class or equivalent in B.Pharm and M.Pharm.
  • Registered Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, wherever applicable.
  • Must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), RGUHS, and other applicable regulatory authorities for the post of Principal.
Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of teaching, research experience in Pharmacy, including at least 5 years as HOD & Professor or in an equivalent academic leadership position in a PCI-approved institution.
  • Experience in managing Undergraduate (B.Pharm), Postgraduate (M.Pharm), and Ph.D. programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic administration, faculty development, research promotion, and institutional governance.
  • Experience in handling PCI, RGUHS, NAAC, NBA, and other statutory inspections and accreditation processes.
  • Proven track record in research publications, consultancy, funded projects, and institutional development is preferred.
