Job summary

Alpha Educational Society is hiring PRT Homeroom Teachers for Grade I & II at Alpha International School, Sembakkam Chennai. Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree with B.Ed or a relevant diploma, along with 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in CBSE or Cambridge curricula.

The role involves nurturing students' academic and emotional development while teaching core subjects. A child-friendly and empathetic approach is essential, and prior experience as a Mother Teacher is an advantage.

Qualifications

Job Description

Alpha Group of Institutions is inviting applications from nurturing, enthusiastic, and experienced PRT Homeroom (Mother) Teachers for Grade I & II across our CBSE and International schools.

The selected candidates will function as Class Teachers, handling core subjects and supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

Eligibility Criteria

• Any Undergraduate degree with B.Ed OR Diploma in Montessori / Early Childhood Education
• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience
• Experience in CBSE and/or Cambridge curriculum is preferred
• Prior experience as a Mother Teacher / Primary Homeroom Teacher is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Homeroom / Class Teacher for Grade I or II
• Teach English, Mathematics, and EVS
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and activity-based lessons
• Monitor and support students’ academic and holistic development
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a nurturing learning environment
• Conduct assessments, maintain academic records, and prepare progress reports
• Communicate effectively with parents and participate in PTMs
• Collaborate with subject teachers and academic coordinators
• Participate in school events, trainings, and curriculum planning
