Job Purpose
The Home Room Teacher (HRT) is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and holistic development of every child. As the primary mentor and point of contact for students and parents, the HRT delivers high-quality instruction aligned with the CBSE curriculum while fostering curiosity, creativity, confidence, and strong values.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school expectations.
- Use innovative, experiential, and child-centred teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Establish classroom routines and maintain discipline through positive reinforcement.
- Ensure classrooms are organized, stimulating, and conducive to learning.
Student Development
- Monitor students' academic, behavioural, emotional, and social progress.
- Encourage independence, collaboration, and responsible behaviour.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or emotional support and coordinate timely interventions.
Assessment & Documentation
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain student portfolios, attendance, assessment records, and progress reports.
- Prepare report cards and maintain accurate academic documentation.
Parent Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) professionally.
- Provide constructive feedback on student progress and address concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Participate actively in assemblies, celebrations, exhibitions, field trips, and school events.
- Support admissions, orientation programmes, and other institutional initiatives as assigned.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of students at all times.
- Adhere to all child safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
- Report any concerns regarding student welfare through appropriate channels.
Professional Development
- Participate in workshops, training programmes, and professional development initiatives.
- Stay updated with best teaching practices and educational trends.
- Implement feedback received through observations and mentoring.
Qualifications
- Graduate with BEd / ECCE / NTT / Montessori Certification (Mandatory).
Primary
- Graduate or Postgraduate with B.Ed. (Mandatory).
- CTET-qualified candidates will be preferred.
Experience
- Pre-Primary: 1–3 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Primary: 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or equivalent school preferred.
- Passionate and competent fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
