Job summary

Hitachi, Ltd. in Savli–Vadodara, India, seeks an Electrical Engineer with 4–8 years of GIS/ HV GIS primary design experience. You will lead technical design activities for GIS/PASS switchgear, define milestones, prepare SLDs, 3D models, BOMs and procurement docs, and ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires hands-on CAD modelling (AUTOCAD, Pro/E/CREO), knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards, and fluent English communication to coordinate with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 4-8 years in primary design, GIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering.
• Read customer specifications and compliance reports as per requirements.
• Define milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design) as per project need.
• Prepare Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings based on offers, tenders and specifications.
• Model high voltage GIS in 3D for various substation configurations.
• Prepare Guaranteed technical particulars for GIS and HV equipment (breakers, disconnectors, GIB).
• Deliver Detail Design Tasks (rating plates, cable, earthing, civil requirements, as-built)
• Support DtV process during Base design phase.
• Contribute to margin improvement of the project.
• Prepare SD BOMs and release in SAP per milestone database, and prepare procurement documents.

The opportunity

For our GIS – PASS Factory in Savli - Vadodara, India, we are looking for Electrical Engineer with expertise in the field of HV-GIS Engineering. You will join a dynamic, motivated, and creative team with a variety of experience and competencies. You will be responsible for providing the technical expertise and execute the primary engineering as the project primary lead engineer for the GIS/PASS switchgear for different voltage levels (145 KV GIS / 245 KV GIS / 420 KV GIS).

How you’ll make an impact

• Participate in the Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering
• Read through the customer specifications and compliance reports as per the customer requirements.
• Define the milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design) as per the project requirement.
• Preparation of Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings based on various offer / tender and customer specifications.
• Preparation of 3D modelling of high voltage GIS for various substation configuration
• Preparation of Guaranteed technical particulars of GIS and HV equipment such as Breakers, disconnectors, GIB etc. for submission to customer.
• Delivering all the Detail Design Tasks (Rating plates / Cable / Earthing / Civil requirements / As Built etc)
• Execute DtV Process during the Base design phase.
• Contribute to the Margin improvement of the Project.
• Accountable for the On Quality Delivery of the milestones of the project as per the Milestone database
• Preparation of bill of materials (SD BOMs) and release in the SAP as per the Milestone database.Preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings as required. Active participation in project review meeting
• Supports trouble shooting for factory and onsite issues and provides disposition actions.
• Can do proper root causing analysis for the quality issues.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 4-8 years of experience in primary design, preferably GIS Engineering.
• Knowledge on IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Hand on experience in 3D tools like AUTOCAD, ProE / CREO, MSOffice.
• Familiar with international standards (IEC, EN, ANSI)
• Knowledge of SAP system (MM module)
• Expertise in GIS Project execution process knowledge
• HV Substation Design knowledge
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language.
