Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE Aruba Networking) invites experienced professionals to join as a Consulting Systems Engineer. The role focuses on providing technical leadership in networking solutions and guiding customers from concept to implementation.

You will design end-to-end network architectures, present to customers, and collaborate with sales teams to drive deal success while mentoring junior staff and contributing to cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in Networking, Presales, or Solution Consulting roles.
• Strong ability to design end-to-end enterprise network architectures.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership in designing networking solutions aligned to customer business needs.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor in deal pursuits, offering product and technology expertise.
• Design end-to-end network architectures across domains such as AIOps, Campus, SASE, Data Center, or Routing.
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer workshops throughout the sales cycle.
• Partner with Account Managers to translate customer problems into solutions.
• Influence long-term customer network transformation aligned with business outcomes.
• Support RFP/RFI responses, solution positioning, and PoC engagements.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive technology thought leadership.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

Job Family Definition

Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet a customer’s business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships to secure customer satisfaction. Provides the deepest level of product- and technology-specific expertise available to customers from anyone in the sales organization in deal pursuit situations. Aligned to specific products or product-lines.

The Consulting Systems Engineer is also a subject matter expert in their area of specialization (i.e., Mobility, Security, Branch, etc), responsible for consulting customers on end to end technical designs to meet their business need.

These jobs focus on selling to customers, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices.

Management Level Definition

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

• Support RFP/RFI responses, solution positioning, competitive differentiation, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive technology thought leadership.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross-functional initiatives where required.

What You Need To Bring

• 5-10 years of experience in Networking, Presales, or Solution Consulting roles.
• Strong expertise in at least one or more networking domains:
• AIOps
• Campus Networking (Wired/Wireless)
• SASE
• Data Center Networking
• Routing & Switching
• Proven experience designing end-to-end enterprise network architectures.
• Strong customer-facing experience with executive-level communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Experience supporting large enterprise deal pursuits and working alongside sales teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and exercise sound technical judgment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex business scenarios.
• Preferred: Relevant industry certifications (HPE Juniper, HPE-Aruba, Cisco, SASE, Cloud, etc).
