Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Consulting Systems Engineer in India to deliver end-to-end networking designs and act as a trusted advisor in deal pursuits. The role focuses on sales-driven engagement with customers, with hybrid work requiring 2 days per week in an HPE office.

You will design solutions across Campus, Data Center, and related domains and mentor teammates. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in networking/presales, strong customer-facing skills, and relevant certifications.

• Proven experience designing end-to-end enterprise network architectures.
• Strong customer-facing experience with executive-level communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and leadership in designing networking solutions aligned to customer business needs.
• Act as trusted technical advisor in deal pursuits with deep product/tech expertise.
• Design end-to-end network architectures across domains (AIOps, Campus, SASE, Data Center).
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer workshops.
• Partner with Account Managers to translate problems into impactful solutions.

Job Description

Job Family Definition: Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet a customer’s business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships to secure customer satisfaction. Provides the deepest level of product- and technology-specific expertise available to customers from anyone in the sales organization in deal pursuit situations. Aligned to specific products or product-lines.

The Consulting Systems Engineer is also a subject matter expert in their area of specialization (i.e., Mobility, Security, Branch, etc), responsible for consulting customers on end to end technical designs to meet their business need.

These jobs focus on selling to customers, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices.

Management Level Definition

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Provide technical guidance and leadership in designing networking solutions aligned to customer business needs.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor in deal pursuits, offering the deepest product and technology expertise within the sales organization.
• Design end-to-end network architectures across domains such as AIOps, Campus (Wired/Wireless), SASE, Data Center, or Routing.
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and customer workshops to create value throughout the sales cycle.
• Partner with Account Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate customer problem statements into impactful solutions.
• Influence long‑term customer network transformation aligned with business outcomes.
• Support RFP/RFI responses, solution positioning, competitive differentiation, and proof‑of‑concept engagements.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive technology thought leadership.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives where required.

What You Need To Bring

• 5-10 years of experience in Networking, Presales, or Solution Consulting roles.
• Strong expertise in at least one or more networking domains:
  • AIOps
  • Campus Networking (Wired/Wireless)
  • SASE
  • Data Center Networking
  • Routing & Switching
• Proven experience designing end‑to‑end enterprise network architectures.
• Strong customer‑fac​ing experience with executive‑level communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Experience supporting large enterprise deal pursuits and working alongside sales teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and exercise sound technical judgment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to handle complex business scenarios.
• Preferred: Relevant industry certifications (HPE Juniper, HPE‑Aruba, Cisco, SASE, Cloud, etc.).
