Reports to: Centre Head

1. Role Purpose:

The Preschool Teacher at Kidzonia International School is responsible for nurturing the holistic development of children aged 2–6 years by creating a safe, engaging, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. The role focuses on fostering cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development through age-appropriate, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning aligned with the school’s international early childhood philosophy.

2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Teaching & Learning

Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the Kidzonia curriculum framework (play-based / Montessori / EYFS / as applicable).

Design and implement daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans with clear learning objectives.

Facilitate learning through:

  • Storytelling and phonics
  • Music, movement, and dance
  • Art, craft, and sensory play
  • Numeracy and pre-math activities
  • Life skills and practical activities

Encourage curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and independence in young learners.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.

Observe and monitor each child’s:

  • Cognitive growth
  • Emotional regulation
  • Social interaction
  • Physical and motor skills

Identify developmental milestones and flag concerns early.

Support children’s emotional security, confidence, and self-esteem.

Promote positive behavior using gentle guidance and positive reinforcement.

Ensure children feel safe, valued, and respected at all times.

C. Classroom Management

Create a warm, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.

Maintain age-appropriate classroom rules and routines.

Manage classroom materials, learning centers, and displays.

Ensure smooth transitions between activities.

Maintain appropriate teacher-student ratios and active supervision.

D. Health, Safety & Hygiene

Ensure compliance with school safety policies and child protection guidelines.

Maintain hygiene standards (handwashing, cleanliness, meal supervision).

Rest/nap times

Respond promptly and appropriately to minor injuries or health concerns.

Report incidents to school authorities and parents as per protocol.

E. Assessment & Documentation

Conduct ongoing observations and formative assessments.

Maintain accurate records including:

  • Progress reports
  • Anecdotal notes

Prepare and share developmental progress reports with parents.

Use assessment data to modify lesson plans and support individual needs.

F. Parent Communication & Engagement

Build positive and professional relationships with parents/guardians.

Communicate regularly about:

  • Child’s progress
  • Classroom activities
  • Behavioral or developmental observations

Conduct parent-teacher meetings and orientations.

Address parent concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Encourage parental involvement in school activities where appropriate.

Work collaboratively with:

  • Assistant teachers
  • Special educators (if applicable)
  • Coordinators and school leadership

Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.

Contribute ideas for curriculum enhancement and school events.

Support school functions, celebrations, and community programs.

3. Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Child Development
  • Relevant teaching certification (as per local regulations).
Experience:

Minimum 1–3 years of experience teaching preschool or early years (freshers with strong training may be considered).

Experience in an international or premium preschool environment is preferred.
