Job summary

Capsule VFX is seeking a Prep Artist in Mumbai to prepare live-action plates for downstream VFX work. This on-site, full-time role involves roto/paint work, plate cleanup, and asset setup according to studio standards, with collaboration across compositors and production teams.

You will work within a fast-paced environment, managing shots and ensuring clean, organized feeds for seamless CGI integration. Strong knowledge of Nuke, Silhouette, and Mocha is preferred.

Role Description

The Prep Artist is responsible for preparing live-action plates and assets for downstream VFX work, ensuring that footage and elements are clean, organized, and ready for compositing and CGI integration. This full-time, on-site role is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and involves close collaboration with compositors, CG artists, and production teams. Day-to-day tasks include tasks such as roto and paint work, tracking and match-move support, plate cleanup, artifact removal, and setting up assets following studio standards.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in VFX prep workflows, including rotoscoping, paint/cleanup, and basic compositing using industry-standard tools (e.g., Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, or comparable software).
• Experience with tracking and match-move support, including working with camera tracking data, lens distortion, and plate stabilization.
• Solid understanding of VFX pipelines and file management, including naming conventions, version control, shot organization, and collaboration within a production environment.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, meet deadlines, and manage multiple shots or tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
