Figulus Solutions Private Ltd is seeking a Pre-Sales Solution Architect to design AWS application transformations and modernisation for enterprise customers in a customer-facing role. You will translate business requirements into scalable, secure AWS architectures and defend designs to engineers and executives, while contributing hands-on when needed.

The role requires 5-8 years of IT experience, strong .NET/Java skills, and solid AWS knowledge.

You will be part of our Cloud and Application Services team, working closely with sales, delivery, and AWS specialists to design and position application transformation solutions for enterprise customers.

The Pre-Sales Solution Architect supports the design and positioning of application development solutions on AWS. This role works closely with customers, sales, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and practical solution approaches.

Figulus is hiring on behalf of a confidential client — a leading global technology services organisation with a fast-growing AWS practice. We are looking for a Pre-Sales Solution Architect to sit at the intersection of sales and engineering, owning the technical narrative for application development and modernisation opportunities on AWS.

You will partner with sales teams to understand customer business problems, shape them into credible AWS architectures, and defend those designs in front of technical and executive stakeholders. This is a customer-facing, deal-shaping role for an architect who still enjoys getting hands-on with code, whiteboards, and proof-of-concepts — not a pure documentation role.

Location: Hyderabad, India. This position requires working from the office hybrid.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Discovery & Requirements: Partner with sales teams and customers to understand business requirements, current-state application estates, and modernisation drivers, and translate them into clear solution concepts.

Solution Design: Design scalable, secure, cost-optimised AWS application architectures — including migration and modernisation paths, target-state diagrams, effort estimates, and cost models for enterprise customers.

Technical Engagement: Lead technical discussions, architecture workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements with customer engineering and leadership teams.

Proposals & Bid Support: Own the technical sections of RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and statements of work; build and defend the architecture and pricing narrative through to deal closure.

Application Development Depth: Apply hands-on knowledge of .NET or Java, along with modern frontend frameworks, to ground architecture recommendations in delivery reality and validate feasibility.

DevSecOps by Design: Embed DevSecOps practice — CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and secure development standards — into every proposed design.

Documentation & Handover: Produce high-quality solution documentation, architecture decision records, and handover packs; run knowledge-transfer sessions so delivery teams inherit a build-ready design.

Advisory & Enablement: Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and an internal enablement resource — mentoring junior architects and contributing reusable reference architectures, accelerators, and demo assets to the practice.

Partner Alignment: Work with AWS partner teams on funding programmes, co-sell motions, and joint solution positioning.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS

• Fully ramped on the client's AWS service catalogue, accelerators, and delivery model.
  
• Independently leading technical discovery and architecture workshops on mid-to-large opportunities.
• Measurable contribution to pipeline conversion through won technical evaluations and PoCs.
• At least one reusable reference architecture or demo asset contributed to the practice.
  

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-8 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a presales, solution architecture, or customer-facing technical consulting capacity.
  
• Demonstrated experience designing and presenting application solutions on AWS in a presales or pre-contract setting.
  
• Strong hands-on proficiency in .NET or Java application development, plus working exposure to modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or equivalent).
  
• Solid working knowledge of core AWS services across compute, storage, networking, database, and security, and of cloud-native solution design principles.
  
• Practical experience with microservices and serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, Step Functions or equivalent).
  
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation/CDK.
  
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices, specifically CI/CD pipeline design and container-based deployment models.
  
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and credibly to audiences ranging from engineers to CIO-level stakeholders.
  
• Experience building solution cost models, effort estimates, and commercial-technical proposals.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
• Experience with legacy application modernisation - monolith decomposition, mainframe or .NET Framework migration, database re-platforming.
• Exposure to a second hyperscaler (Azure or GCP) and multi-cloud solution positioning.
• Experience working within an AWS Partner Network organisation, including Well-Architected Framework Reviews and MAP/partner funding programmes.
• Familiarity with GenAI and agentic application patterns on AWS (Bedrock, vector stores, RAG architectures).
• Prior experience in a global systems integrator, cloud consultancy, or managed services environment.
• Observability and platform engineering exposure (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, service mesh).
