PRE-PRIMARY TEACHER

JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for passionate, caring and creative Pre-Primary Teachers for our new branch, who can nurture young learners and provide a safe, joyful and stimulating environment during the foundational years. The teacher will be responsible for planning and facilitating age-appropriate learning experiences for Playgroup, Nursery, KGI and KGII, following the principles of NEP 2020 and Foundational Stage education.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on the age, readiness and individual needs of children.
- Implement play-based, activity-based, experiential and inquiry-based learning through stories, rhymes, music, movement, art, role play, games and hands-on activities.
- Build foundational skills in language, communication, early literacy, numeracy, cognitive development, motor skills and creative expression.
- Encourage children to explore their surroundings, ask questions, make connections and develop curiosity and problem-solving abilities.
- Create opportunities for children to develop self-confidence, independence, empathy, cooperation, sharing and emotional awareness.
- Establish predictable classroom routines with an appropriate balance of structured learning, free play, physical activity, rest and transitions.
- Maintain an inclusive classroom where children with different abilities, interests, learning styles and developmental needs are supported appropriately.
- Observe children systematically and use observations to understand their progress and plan suitable learning interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, participation, learning outcomes and areas requiring additional support.
- Identify significant developmental, behavioural or emotional concerns and identify them appropriately to the HOD/Coordinator and parents.
- Build constructive relationships with parents and communicate relevant information regarding the child's overall development and classroom experience.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate teaching-learning materials, activity resources and classroom displays.
- Introduce age-appropriate technology and digital resources when they meaningfully support learning.
- Ensure classroom practices comply with health, hygiene, safety and child-protection requirements.
- Supervise children responsibly during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, transitions, field activities and other school routines.
- Develop healthy habits among children, including personal hygiene, self-care, cleanliness and age-appropriate safety practices.
- Work collaboratively with the HOD/Coordinator, teachers and other members of the school team.
- Participate actively in school programmes, celebrations, parent interactions, training and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain required documentation and complete academic and administrative responsibilities within stipulated timelines.
- Uphold the school's values, policies, professional standards and expectations relating to the care and education of young children.

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative school environment.
- Sound awareness of professional boundaries and appropriate conduct when working with children.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Graduate in any discipline with ECCEd/ NTT course from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Pre-Primary/ Nursery Teacher.
- Phonics certification will be an advantage.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Understanding of NEP 2020 and the Foundational Stage framework.
- Awareness of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and age-appropriate approaches to early language and mathematical development.
- Familiarity with child-centred curriculum planning and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Ability to use observation and documentation as tools for understanding children's learning and development.
- Awareness of inclusive education and differentiated approaches for young learners.
