ACT Placement in Kolkata is seeking a passionate Pre-Primary Teacher to nurture holistic development for Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten learners in a Montessori-inspired setting.

You will create a child-centred, inclusive classroom using Montessori methodologies, plan lessons, assess progress, and maintain records while engaging with parents. The role offers collaboration with teachers and active participation in school events.

Qualifications

• Well-trained Pre-Primary Teacher with Montessori experience.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities for Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities for Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten learners.
• Create a warm, safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Implement Montessori-based learning methodologies and effectively use Montessori apparatus in classroom activities.
• Demonstrate excellent practical knowledge of Montessori apparatus and its appropriate application for early-years learning.
• Conduct phonics-based activities to develop children's early reading, pronunciation and communication skills.
• Develop children's foundational skills in language, numeracy, motor coordination, social interaction,and creative expression.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, learning resources and age-appropriate classroom activities.
• Observe and assess children's learning and developmental progress and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, classroom participation and developmental needs.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and the academic team to ensure consistency in teaching and learning practices.
• Maintain classroom discipline through positive and child-friendly behaviour-management strategies.
• Participate actively in school events, celebrations, workshops and other academic activities.
