Job summary

Alten Group in Chennai seeks an experienced VSA engineer for powertrain components and sub-systems. You will perform variation simulation analysis using CATIA, TCe, Vismockup, 3DX and 3DCS, assess clearance and assembly feasibility, and read complex component drawings.

The role requires strong command of GD&T, 2D tolerance stack-up, MS Office, and close collaboration with engineers through the product life cycle to support driveshaft, engine, transmission and EV interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience with powertrain components and sub-systems (transmission, driveline, or engine).
• Familiarity with VSA concepts and 3D variation analysis for clearance and assembly.
• Hands-on VSA studies for powertrain systems using CATIA, TCe, Vismockup, 3DX and 3DCS.
• 2D tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to read component and assembly drawings.
• Proficient with MS Office tools.
• Perform VSA/assembly feasibility studies for driveshaft seals, engine, transmission, and electric drive interfaces using CATIA, TCe, Vismockup, 3DX, 3DCS.
• Collaborate with engineers to support VSA studies throughout product lifecycle.

Job description

• Experience in powertrain components, Systems & Sub Systems (Transmission or Driveline or Engine)
• Familiar with the VSA concepts and key factors to apply and determine the 3D variations of the components subjected to clearance and Assembly studies
• strong hands-on Experience in VSA (Variation Simulation Analysis) Studies for Powertrain System and sub systems using TCe, CATIA, Vismockup, 3DX and 3DCS tools
• Good working knowledge on 2D Tolerance Stack up Analysis & GDT
• Proven ability in Component and Assembly drawing reading
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools.
• Perform VSA analysis/ assembly feasibility study based on engineering requirements for Driveshaft Seal Design Rules, Engine, transmission & Electric drive interface using CATIA, TCe, Vismockup, 3DX and 3DCS
• Work closely with Engineers to understand the requirements and support as needed with the VSA Studies throughout the entire Product life cycle
